He didn't post much on the "new" forum but has been on Carpe forever. A true friend whom will be missed greatly by many here. I will miss his sharp and dry sense of humour, his friendship, his advice (most of which I ignored) and annoying the hell out of him.

And from a PM he sent me in happier times referring to Wicky and me’sen: “and you two reprobates (who I look upon as two sons as well as mates)” really sums up how much he meant to me and obviously he didn’t think we were too bad either.

He would be annoyed at me blubbing as I type this as it wouldn’t suit the hard exterior he would often show despite being such a wonderful, kind, generous and proud man whom I loved dearly.

"Whats up", "Piston Broke", "Yeah me too...hic"

If you want to mark your location on the Carpe map: http://www.carpe-tdm...opic.php?t=5117

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

Active member of TPLQHCSRSFC and TSRMCMAS (even though a year off) and avid fan of PM not sent.

I find the best friends are the ones prepared to disagree with you on occasion and call you a halfwit when you are. Unfortunately they tend to be the ones most missed when they leave. Dappers I don’t think I ever met Spongey so later on I shall have a sip of the good stuff for you instead.

Mk1' R1 gold spot front calipers • HH sintered front pads • FJR1300 front master cylinder • K&N air filter • Factory Pro emulsion tubes • Oxford heated grips • Mirror extenders • KTM handguards • Baglux tank cover and bag. 12v auxiliary socket • Delkevic 2 into 1 exhaust system • Engine guards • Chrome radiator guard • Renthal bars • Touring screen. Optimate and Oil pressure switch/light mod (Leehenty special!) to be fitted. Tom Tom rider V2 europe. GoPro HD Hero. Fenda extender.
Triumph Tiger 955i with stuff added.

Really sorry to hear this, RIP Spongey. Like Pete, I only met him once on the Ireland RTT in '08. He was a good man and as Dappers said, he had excellent, dry sense of humour. He could seriously hustle that BMW of his too.

Very sorry for your loss Pete.
I hadn't realised Spongey was ill, and presumably he didn't want us to.

Nicest guy, met him at Warmwell all those years ago... sad news.

Sorry to hear he has gone.

As above I did not realise he was ill.

He was a good adversary when it came to mentioning the BMW word and we had a few good run in's.

All in good humour.

Will miss the witty come backs.

See you later, Spongey !
