Please see this video, this police bike has some plastic wing between the fairing and the screen:
I can understand it does make a difference in protection. Do you know who manufactures this? Thanks.

Can't view the video ATM, but do you mean these:
Have a look here:

At the bottom, it's listed as the GT model (France only?)
Posted 04 October 2013 - 05:21 pm
The GT is a special by the French distributor, with the mods noted by JBX. The rear fairing is different I believe to include mountings for Yamaha panniers similar to the FJR1300's.
The deflectors are not cheap.
Note the GT has fairing mounted mirrors, but the police model initially shown in post #1 has the bar-mounted ones we are used to.

If it was a Yamaha option for the French market only there must be a part number somewhere.
For a challenging summer try the

Found out the part numbers:
YMFTDMGT0700
YMFTDMGT0800
French webshops carry it (google), I wonder if local Yamaha dealers could get it...
Costs around 60 EUR each.

Can someone buy and fit a pair and let the rest of us know how well they work please. Actually think they meant to be quite good at deflecting wind!!

Ditto re. feedback. Could this be the screen solution?
Posted 05 October 2013 - 11:14 am
looowking at the pic,
the screen may be specific to the deflectors,
it could be the touring screen (bubble GT), but the sides of the screen, where they marry up to the deflectors, definitely look longer than mine,
hope someone with deeps pockets wants to experiment could be costly

I did try ask my local Yam dealer a few years back about them and was told they were France only parts and they could not order them !!!!!
I did not look into it any further but would like to get a set to try yeah£120 is a bit steep but if it helps the weather and wind protection then it may be worth it.

Not a lot of help, but the 1250 Bandit S I'm riding at the mo has something similar on the front fairing, and makes a LOT of difference as far as weather on gloves goes, - that said the bars are narrower.

Ok regarding the wings, here is some more info

and

and
http://www.motor-for...338794#24338794
You will need to buy the screen as it has an extra hole each side for the wings.
ref YMFTDMGT0300 -> Bubble GT
ref YMFTDMGT0700 -> Left Hand Deflector
ref YMFTDMGT0800 -> Right Hand Deflector
So I had a look on a french dealers website, for the three parts = 211 euros plus shipping.
It does look like it will do a job though.

I know it's a bit sad, but I have thought about making some, and ride magazine have just done an article on how to make your own carbon fibre parts.
However since I will probably take too long to do it, I won't bother. I'll just think about it. , besides which SWMBO, has decided I have too much time on my hands and is adding to the already compiled to do list.
