I replaced the fuel pump diaphragm with some OHP film the other day. The old diaphragm was domed and as a result was contacting the pump casing so I thought I'd have a go at using the arseytate stuff.
Also found an easy peasy way of making the diaphragm. Remove the six longer bolts, remove cover, remove old diaphragm, slide a page of OHP where diaphragm sits, line up the pump cover noggins, press cover into place using a firm grip, pierce film where bolts go with a small screwdriver, push the bolts into bolt holes, tighten bolts then cut the film around the pump. Saves A LOT of farting about sketching out and trying to punch holes where they should go.
Pump seems to work fine, time will tell if the film I used is thick enough or not. I've a feeling the stuff I used, 100 micron, will be too thin. Will get some 250 micron film next and make a noo wan.
