Thanks guys, agree totally about the "need" for 115bhp. Factors like exhaust height hadn't occured to me. Price had, and the TDM looks even better at some of the prices shown here. Anybody got a clue as to the realistic max. discount a cash buyer could get on a new 'un? Must admit to feeling a bit blue when I reckon what I could have got for the same dosh I spent on a 54 plate roadstar.. Ho, hum, we live and learn.

Should I Buy A New Tdm

I had a test ride today on a 2008 model with 8.5k miles. It has a top box and is aone owner in excellent condition. It is about £4800. I found it very light and easy to ride with easily enough power. I wasn't "blown away" by it but I don't think it is that sort of bike - I think it is one that will grow on me. I am waiting for a call from them to say how much they will offer me in px for my Moto Guzzi V7 Classic. I like the Guzzi but want something more easy to tour on. I think it may be better to buy a used one than a new one and the mileage is low enough. Any opinions will be appreciated.

I serviced a customers of mine and test rode it that day just loved it so went looking around, all that I saw had problems in one way or another and the owners had drained the life from them, small time dealers were loading the price of second hand bikes that were in no better condition, in the end I tried to drive a deal with the local dealer but no go! So I spent the 7k and got a brand new one, very happy and when you do the math they don't loose massive money, anyway that don't bother me as you only loose the cash IF you sell.. Yep mines silver with the nasty seat but that's the only gripe, I see there is a new one on eBay for 7.1 LE with Givi boxes etc...reckon they must be worth 500 maybe but I think that's the only real new deal to be had, I could not get anything off the price even paying cash... I have many bikes 11 but love he TDM big time..
