"l" Bracket For Drl's - Engine Mounts

Mr Henty kindly made me some longer mount bolts to account for the brackets I'm going to make for DRL fitting.

 

I'm yet to make the brackets, but the new bolts have dimensions to allow for 3mm material.

 

The question I have is how wide should I make the brackets?

Do they need to be same/wider than the mount bolt head/washer?

I bought these from Rafal @ RM-G in Poland for £20 inc the mount bolt. Goes well with the crash bars I bought rom him too.

Hopefully it should give you an idea dmmsta.

I'd seen those mounts of yours before.  However I'm on a different track.

 

The "L" bracket will go between frame and engine mount bolt.  What I'd like to know is should I be making the bracket the same width as the bolt head, or a bit bigger...I assume not smaller!!

You need to make the hole for your bracket the same size as the bolt shaft, if i recall it's 12mm, measure your new ones, if you make it the same size as the bolt head you wont be able to secure it.

The same width as the diameter of the spacer that the bolt passes through.
