Yes I'm pleased, this guy stole the bike and was a thieving scumbag. He got what he deserved, I just hope the guy in the van was ok.

It's quite scary to think that if you nic a bike and don't wear a helmet the old bill won't give chase. Yet they'll lock up a bloke for 6 months for doing 120 with his kid on the a bike which is fully legal. Now that's WTF

I do feel a tinge of sadness due to his death, BUT if he lived and was a vegetable or recovered and was jailed fer a number of years he would be a financial burden on us. Harsh but realistic and fair ?

He stole one of these...

and one of these killed him?

Sad for his family etc, but I guess it's Darwin's natural selection in operation. At least he didn't take anyone with him...

I'm not grieving for this guy; however, he is a statistic that impacts on bike laws for the future. Killed in a bike crash, no distinction in the statistics if it was his bike or not.

Having actually HAD a bike stolen, I wouldn't have wished the thief to die. It's only a bike FFS. It's nothing to do wih Darwin, either - before the helmet law came in, most people managed well enough without helmets. And anyone buying second hand spares may have inadvertantly provided a market for stolen bikes and bits. All those bits on eBay - do we wish the sellers dead?

If that's 'justice', how do you escalate it for something serious?

I'm just amazed your police have a policy not to chase because the thieves might hurt themselves. Seriously?

Yeah only a bike that it's owner has worked hard scrimping and saved and worked hard to own then keep spending money on it to keep it in good nick.

Then for some lowlife to come along and say I want that and I'm not going to work to earn the money to buy it I'll just steal it.....

Get outlook on life, I can't afford a Ferrari, Merc, Ducati 1198 so I think I go and nick them anybody else want one??

If someone niked my TDM that I've owned for 6 yrs spent about £1,500 on it in bits and prob best part of 300+ hrs building/ keeping on the road and some cunt along and took it I would defo want him dead or injured and I'd do the job myself too..........

My Super Modded TDM has gone to a new home :(
