I know oit looks like the lights are removed, but that is just the way the light-bloom turned out.
All the pictures were taken using my phone so they are not brilliant quality, buy I think they show how efective the DRL's are and they are at their best in low-light situations; dusk / dawn / fog etc..

If you don't feel comfortable riding your bike without excessively bright lights, then you (and fellow road-users) are probably better off by doing some advanced riding training.
Trust me, even when using blue lights on a fully marked, flipping huge emergency bike, plenty people fiddling with their phones, satnavs, radio, or passengers still won't notice you when they should. Other tactics, like road positioning, recognising-, prioritising and preparing for dangers will keep you much safer and will cause less irritation and additional risks to other road users- which could make people be more helpful next time you filter through traffic. Mind you, even the EU-idiots making pointless regulations for bikers wll have less execuses to do so if we behave more sophisticated as a species of road-users.

Even (or should I say: especially?) if you think you have been riding forever and there is nothing to improve, you will be surprised what relatively simple hints and tips could make riding safer AND more fun. Why not have a try at your local IAM or RoSPA group? They are a lovely bunch, and it could save your life.

The nut on the LED is Loctite'd, and the Philips Head screw is about 7mm longer than the original socket head screw... there's a stack of washers under the bracket to compensate for the recess.

They're mounted with 25x25x13x1mm zinc plated brackets, from the hardware store, that have a quick coat of mat black sprayed on.

I might do a night shot... once it's night... when I adjust the aim.

They're wired into an Eastern Beaver 3 fuse relay switched loom, using a 2A fuse... this bit is more complex than needed for a couple of LEDS but I installed a set of Motrax heated grips at the same time (and tidied up the shitfight my Yamaha dealer made when they installed the alarm and Givi racks).

Anyone tried these?

They seem pretty popular on the BMW forums. I might try the rear light setup - already have solid driving lights on all 3 bikes.

They seem to be exactly what I was looking for - P3 rear visibility LED lights. Just ordered a kit, and once assembled, will report back with pictures(I think I learned how to upload, thanks Thomas....)

Any light will show up better in low light situations.

Sorry it took some time before I got around fitting the Bikevis Bullets V2's, but I finally found some time today. :good:

I thought about mounting them under the headlight, but I felt the wider the motorcycle looks, the better.

After some thinking I desided to mount them to the handguards, and I'm really happy with the result.

I have the Acerbis Scooter Flash universal ones. Not the best wind protection, but they look great. The LED lights in them are worthless though.

He he.

I've fitted a switch so they doesn't have to be turned on all the time.
I don't think I'll use them when it's as dark out as in those pictures.

I took some pictures in daylight, but the pictures doesn't do the Bullets justice. Anyway, here are two more:

Hi, I wonder if you could upload some pics showing the fixings of the lights to the handguards and the wiring routs?

Thanks

Hi.
I mounted the lights like this:

I mounted the switch here:

Posted Image

I connected the positive wire to and from the switch, and the negative to ground. I hooked in to the same wires as the heated grips (Symtec). I'm not quite finished yet. I have to glue the wire to the inside of the handguards, and fix the wires with some strips (is that the right word?).

Now it's winter here, so I don't have to be finished until march next year. :sorry:

Picyures of Projector DRL's as mentioned.

The third picture shows the DRL's mounted on the engine bars.

Hi Capers

I've just bought a set of these DRL's and fancy fitting them similar to yours on the engine bars. Can you describe how they're actually attached to the bars on indeed some detailed photos would be useful?

I appreciate this topic is several months old so I might just drop you a PM too......... :signthankspin:

I fitted a couple of the Bikevis DRLs to mine. Bikevis service is great and they replaced, foc, the complete pair when one of mine failed. They also do a plug in LED sidelight "bulb" which i equally white, as th original sidelight looks very yellow compared to the DRLs.

Why not just switch on your main beam if you insist on blinding other motorists?

It is interesting how bikers run bright lights and loud exhausts with the excuse to emphasise their road presence, but if EU law suggests modest hi-viz requirements and improved rider training for exactly the same reason then we all flock together in protest against such unprecedented injustice.

Hi.

Recently I've been thinking of visibility, and think some daytime running lights might be the way to go.

I want the lights to be small, but bright. I saw these on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.u...ht_11990wt_1024

Has anyone tried these? Are they any good?

I like the way they are mounted.

My mate has just fitted the same lights to my bike and they make a big difference, really stand out.I don't know how to upload photos to show you what they look like.Sorry
