The TDM900 has about only half the under seat space that's available on a V-Strom ( see Eastern Beaver fitting guide )
so it required some thought as to how to go about fitting the PC-8. doubtfull.gif

Maybe I could have put it to the rear of the seat latch bracket, where the manual & toolkit go, but I wanted to keep that space for my wet weather trousers.
Also since most of the accessories I'll fit will be right up front I wanted the wiring ASAP. The fuse-box also needs to be easy to access & instal wiring to.

So this is it.

Before anyone says it, yes I know those plastic pieces are meant to hold a cyclelok. I don't think I'll ever use one & I believe there are better alternatives.
So carefully cut down all 4.

It's a little tricky drilling these 2 holes due to small space. Just drill them right on each edge of the round bubble which convenientely marks just the right spot.

All fairly clear to follow me thinks. I used a similar mounting position to the one Jim used on his V-Strom 1000.

How lucky is this? An ignition switched +12 volt connection right where you need it. good.gif
Not 100% sure, but I think it may be for connecting part of the ABS module. If so it would still be easy to tap into if you have ABS.

Easy access to do your wiring.

Here you can see the accessories wired so far with spare ones for extra lights, cigarette style 12volt socket, etc, etc.

There's enough clearance under the seat so there's no contact or pressure on the fusebox.
I've ridden with wife on pillion for about a month & all is good.
The Oxfords & other electrics work perfectly as they should. No prob's whatsoever.

Hope you find this useful fellas. Jim's kits come with all hardware & good fitting advise on his website.
He is a first rate bloke to deal with. good.gif

next part is fitting the BMW style powerlet socket to power the wife's heated gloves, etc.
She gets cold hands but is nice & warm where it counts. tongue.gif laugh.gif

I like a man who knows his gadgets. You're right on the money Tony, it makes wiring all those electrical accessories in a Snap!
while giving fused protection & it also means if you leave something switched on it will be turned off when you turn off your ignition.
No more flat Battery. good.gif

From memory the whole kit was about $57 US including shipping to Oz from Japan.

Jim Davis - Eastern Beaver has lots of nice biker stuff.
