I tried putting an overlay over the mkI once using a proper headloight beamy machine thing and it was a complete pain. Not sure how the 9'ers are set up.
Beware anything you stick to a hot headlight may melt and cause a big mess.

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

Seems like I dont need to bother, although I will have the Duct tape in the camping gear. You can fix most things with cable ties and Duct tape!!

My toolkit for a trip to France a few years back

The speed cameras are usually front facing, so if you get caught by one you will be ok. People do warn you if they have rader guns, make sure the police do not see you, warning others as it is illegal.
If you go peage make sure you go in the bike kiosk as some are free. You can also stop overnight in service stations for free.
Dont forget to take a hi-viz vest for each passenger
