i posted this in wanted earlier...

"i have a monolock plate on my 900 and wanted a larger box.... stupidly, i bought off the bay a monokey box... lol

so.... as the box is now the right size for what i want.... does anyone have a monokey plate they are looking to get rid of please"

but having looked on ebay i dunno if i'm looking for the right thing... i need to bolt the plate onto the tdm 9 rear rack... a few of the sellers state that the monoket plates are for mounting on the givi racks. so i guess i need to know what to ask for/order if no-one on here has one to shift....

to me, these look right: 190451715852

but seller states it's for a monorack. then there's these: 400182844822

which are advertised as "universal monokey plates" - from the description the seconds sounds closer to the mark but the first is a fiver cheaper and if it does the same job....?

any input appreciated

cheers

those are both monokey topplates

monorack is the armor part that allows fitting of 1 topbox but not panniers
wingrack is the part for fitting 2 panniers and topbox

they are indeed.... but what i'm saying is the seller of the first one described it as a bolt on for the givi rack. i don't have a rack (or a wingrack for that matter) and wondered if it could be used to bolt onto the std 900 rear carrier. i have a tendancy to buy the wrong thing as i'm a bit of a numpty like that wink.gif , thus the reason i asked. if either will bolt onto the rear rack on my 9'er then thats cool but i don't want to buy the wrong thing...... again wink.gif

I have both the Universal plate you show in your second picture and the luggage rack that it bolts to and bolts onto your rear carrier. I
think the luggage rack is a Yamaha product part number 5PS-W0736-10-00.

I'm away at the moment so I can't post any pictures but they were the 2 items I used on mine to connect my Monokey box (Give E52)

I'd been intending to give the rack a quick spray of hammerite to smarten it up before putting them both on Ebay, but PM me if you're interested

I just got longer mushroom head stainless bolts bolts to replace the originals at the front and made up a packing from stainless washers so it sat level then bolted it through the front of the rear grab rail and used the clamps supplied with the plate at the rear on my niner

solid as a rock and has been on for over a year now. My Monokey 36ltr box acts as a backrest for my better half.

I would post pictures if I could but I can't

How does £30 sound to you for the both? I go pretty near Morden on my commute to Chiswick so you shouldn't need to worry about postage.

I'm back home on Sunday and due in Work from the Tuesday onwards so maybe one evening that week if you're happy?

PM me your address if you are

Cheers

when you say both is that whats posted in the 2nd pic or are you meaning whats posted in the second pic and the std 9'er rack? reason i ask is that they're listed on ebay for 35 new and you mentioned the one you had needed some love - ebay jobs also have all fixings etc as shown wink.gif - i already have the rear tdm rack on the bike so i presume whats posted in my second pic is all i need to attach to the std rack?

cheers
steve

PS - just re-read your post.... is there another plate i need to go between this universal plate and my std rack? - i'm confusing myself now..... :-/

Sorry - I can see that doesn't seem much of a deal looking at it that way - what I meant was that I had the universal Givi plate which then bolts onto to a Yamaha luggage rack which is an OEM accessory rack. It doesn't seem listed by Yamaha anymore but I found This place selling it but the picture is useless.

As far as I am aware you can't bolt anything directly to the "rack" that comes as standard on the 900 - when I asked the dealer I bought the bike from to fit my Givi box on the bike this is how they did it.

I can take some pictures when I get home Sunday or even swing by your place on the way home one night next week and you can see all the bits. You're welcome to the universal plate on it's own, or see what you think it's all worth.
