Wanted a reasonable pair of plain black touring/commuting boots without paying silly money. These had good reviews on Amazon and the like.
Soft and supple after an initial application of dubbin, great fit and comfortable from the off.
Recommended.

They stopped the reconditioning service cos people were taking the p#~s sending knackered boots in and expecting a full recondition for £99 Gotta send mine in for new soles getting a bit thin now can feel stones through them.

I have got some Sidi Courier boots. Mine were second hand [ bought by someone, too small for them and then sat in a cupboard for two years ] got them for £79! They are really comfy and tank like! You can happily walk around town in them and not worry about it.
look like this - expensive new!

I'm very happy with my Daytona Evo Voltex GTX boots. Handmade in Germany in high quality cowhide, two leather covered plastic sliders, titanium toe slider, carbon heel cup, inner sole with hot-dip galvanised steel inlay. Separate inner boot with a composite hard shell with hinged joint, shock absorbing latex-padding for the calf/ankle/chinbone/heel areas, Gore-Tex duratherm membrane. Looks stunning, waterproof, very comfortable and one of the safest boots on the market. Yours for only £630.

Lucky for me I paid much less through eBay Germany.
A) Smart thinking and30ers
B) I'm going to freshen up my German as Ebay Germany seems to be the place to go!

I only paid £ 300, still a lot of money. But if I can avoid crushing a foot if I'm in an accident it's well worth it. Cheap touring boots don't protect the ankle from crush or twist force. Race boots do, but I don't fancy the all plastic styling with external hinges and buckles. Daytona make top notch leather race boots with a muted look. Inner boot design:
