Just to wish you all the best folks, i had planned to join this when first mooted but still unable to bend wrists so will have to sit out the remainder of the season.

Just think though, rain and midges don't associate. wink.gif

SWMBO and I had a meal in Roo's Leap in Aviemore on Saturday night and are very impressed with prices and quality so booked a table for 18 for 8.30 pm on Saturday 12th September. For the Friday night we could either go to Roo's Leap or there's Indian and Italian restaurants withing walking distance. Any thoughts lads?If you'd been at the Roy Bridge G2G you'd have remembered the SNORING mate excl.gif

How about the Old Bridge Inn or Cairngorm Hotel - food was good there last time, or have you fallen oot with the management already laugh.gif

The Cairngorm Hotel don't book tables so you take your chances when turning up on spec and I reckon that we could struggle even more as there will be about 18 of us on Saturday night. The food at the Old Bridge Inn is excellent but pricey but we could eat there on the Friday night if people want to. Harkies (now the Happy Haggis) where we had breakfast last time does not open until 12 noon so they are a non-starter for breakfast.

Note the word "discretionary" - "left to or exercised at ones own discretion".................if they're going to get orders from 15+ folks then I have the discretion to tell them to shove their 10% service charge up their arses!

Good looking menu good.gif

To make sure I've got this all right. Ivan's posse is meeting at Forton Services on the M6 at 9:00AM, which is here on Google maps.
Then we're meeting Hawmaw, Paddy, Chris and the rest of the Rab C Nesbitt Fan Club at Sainsburys in Glasgow here at about noon.
Then we're all riding up to Aviemore. Then going to the pub, then it's sleep, ride, pub, sleep, ride, pub, sleep, ride home for those of us staying the Sunday night.
Weather forecast is looking fantastic, hope it continues.
What's the rough route from Glasgow to Aviemore? Glencoe/Fort William?
Sorry to repeat stuff already in the thread, but thought it might be handy to have the "plan" in one post for the hard of thinking, like me. Bear in mind I'm actually older than Ivan tongue.gif

Yep Chris thats how I understand it, good.gif

I have to give Andy ( Hawmaw ) a text with our ETA at Glasgow.

Bearing in mind my own personal tank, I usualy get 89.3 miles to the p!ss, so there will have to be a few stops on the way up or the last one will be to a hospital.

If we stop above Gretna, I can text Andy as we will have about an hour to go to get to Sunny Glasgow.

What size string vest do you want ? You'll need it to pass boarder control, dont forget a bottle of Iron Bru
and to p!ss yourself of course. hide.gif

Cheers, Ivan
