Started the search for a new seat cover / recover / Gel insert etc.

Viking near Brands Hatch do a while you wait service, and there's a nearby cafe to wait in.
Top Sellerie look like the best ones though!

755 Renthals arrived today so they're now on. Why do we need so many tools to do this job Yamaha?

Does anyone know the thread of the old bar ends, good supplier of a tap?

Just measured and I make it 16mm 1.5 thread?

(Oh, and ordered a non-cheap seat option from these chaps: http://www.topsellerie.com

Why spend so much? Besides looking good (I think); and hopefully being more comfy (gel-pads); riding last winter with my friend on his BMW RT, and with him telling me how nice and warm he was with his heated seat, this seemed a great way to make my trusty TDM as luxurious as the monster RT)

:)

Yeah, I've done the IAM. And yeah, I recommend it (any so-called 'advanced training' come to that; not just IAM): A low cost training course based on the system used by the police, which is largely common sense once pointed out, making one smoother, quicker and safer. What's not to like? And why would one not want to tell others?  :hide:

Wheeled mine out, washed it....only to get the flies off it so I could stick on my new Carpe Owners club sticker (thx Roxy). It was either that or cut the grass....no contest really. A quick wee blast down the end of my road (200 yrds), because I can never seem to just wheel it back into the garage :)

Been so busy in the workshop my TDM has been sat, today serviced a Crosstourer soooo heavy (all at the top too) I had to bust a ball to lift it on the centre stand on my ramp!!! Bikes like this make me love the TDM a little more each day, hope to get out on the TDM this weekend so later I will give it a look over ready for a good ride out. Out of all my bikes its the bloody TDM that calls me for a ride out...

(fingers crossed for some nice weather in the next few days/weeks)

Got the bar ends sorted today. While riding home from work I decided the bars want to come back a little, while tightening one of the clamps one handed the rachet slips and removes 2 small bits of paint on the tank. Why didn't I cover the tank, tit. :punishment:

Very small but shouldn't have happened.

Touch up pencil anyone?

Fitted the new battery which arrived yesterday. I know some of you on here have had some 'issues' with the removal of the battery box but maybe I was lucky. Ten minutes to get it out and ten to get it back in! One push on the button and away she went. Took her for a nice yet damp spin around beautiful Mulroy Bay.

Well I decided that my disc bolts needed replacing (they were rusty and crap) and so got some snazzy new titanium ones off fleabay for 32 squid. Now I know that sounds a lot for 16 little bolts but they do look nice and I won't be buying them again so.....

And my left hand mirror has been annoying me for ages as it's suffered weather damage and the coating stuff on the back of the glass was corroded. So I ordered a new pattern one from M+P, again on fleaby.

All now done and looking good BUT if anyone else is temped by the same mirror just be warned that they're not EXACTLY the same as the OE ones. The construction is slightly less substantial and the stem isn't quite as long as the OE. Having said that I'm really splitting straws and no one would ever guess if you didn't tell them.

Anyroadup that's what I did. Me.

New brake pads on the front a bled the front brakes and I cleaned and lubed the chain with a different lube as the old stuff I was using was junk.

I also fitted some pinch weld rubber around the screen edge and added a whole bunch of stickers and decals I had collected for the bike over the last few months but hadn't got round to putting on.  It looks a ton better with Carpe Tdm stickers and other stuff on it.  ;)
