Dont like the combo Chris, feels like your hands are in a sauna and if your gloves linings are'nt sown in your gonna have some fun, always found muffs to be fine on their own wearing summer gloves..

Fook me, muffs in August

I know.....its Norway though innit.

I know a Norwegian primary school teacher and concert pianist, who rides in minus 25 on her 250cc scooter with studded tyres.

Hard as nails, most of them ;)

She can play piano after just riding with scooter muffs !

Bet you had fun googling them. :D

Yeah, was thinking of it, but actually haven't seen anything fun yet ;) .

Thing is, I bought them from my local car/home accessory dealer, didn't google until posting here and needed to verify that "muffs" is the proper english term.

Gently brushed past the bike and ever so slightly (hardly touched it), caught the nearside front indicator lens causing it to eject from the housing.

Inspection revealed the retaining screw boss had detached from the remainder of the lens - damn.

Superglue will NOT attach the offending part, unless you're thinking of another offensive part fnarr.

Epoxy glue and a reinforcing steel strip fashioned from a picture hanger was my solution. I will replace this lens with one of my spare indicator lenses when I get home, probably.

Sold it  :unsure2:

I've not used the TDM much since I bought the S10.  I suppose if I was a proper motorcyclist and needed a bike for every day I'd have kept it as it is undoubtedly a better all rounder, but as I only need a bike for sunny days and the occasional tour the Super Tenere suits me better for now.  Hope I can claim associate membership status, and stick around on "Carpe", the S10 is a bit like the TDMs big sister after all

Got 150 miles on the rebuilt MK1.... over 50mpg and not a drop of oil used :)

Shame the rear caliper seal has decided to leak and cover the rear tyre in brake fluid :sorry:

Seal kit on order :)

Gave it a blast for an hour or so. Something has happened because I've never felt so connected to this bike! It was a great feeling, Never had so much confidence in a bike or myself for that matter. The Pirellis are better then PR3s but in a subtle way. The Brembo pads have got me braking later, harder and with far more feel and assurance than any other brakes I've had. And the Wilbers 643 is the best money I've ever spent on a bike. :yahoo:

I reckon everything has just clicked together and my god what a bike! It feels nothing like the 9er that was delivered. Just got to get those Renthal Streetfighters  on and a few bits n bobs and that's that.

A couple days back I did a trial fit of the hand guards off the Vstrom adv. Went together w/a little fiddling. Looks quite nice if I do say so. These give great protection(wind/rain), but the cool part, the end weights really tame the 4k-5k vibe in the bars. Thats NICE.👍
So, these will go back on the strom, and will order the kit for the mk1. Ride safe everyone. Pd G. 😎

I wondered the same thing.  They appear to be ProTapers of some type.  I have Renthals and am really happy with them.  But the options for bar weights was really limited unless you are going to tap the handlebars.  I'm just using the Renthal weights on mine, but there isn't much mass to them.  I don't find the TDM overly buzzy, but smoother is always better in my opinion.

Thanks for the interest. The bars are Protaper EVO adventure profile #024026.
1 1/8" and corasponding mounts.
I love em. Totally natural feel.👍 I'll throw a more detailed post up when I wake and the light is better for photos. It's 0030hrs, dark.

Exactly, , what Davy said. No taping needed. But the suzuki weights use a rubber type plug with a bolt and nut pinching the plug inside the bar. Yup!
Thanks mate.✌

Emptied a full tank of the MkI below 4 l/100km (or above 70 MPG, if you like) for the first time. Will not be happening often, a steady speed tour at max 80kph :-)
