It is, but having to trial and error the fuel levels isnt as fun as some may think! I hate taking the carbs off and hoping theyre good! Haha

Yeah, I hope he and his friend have forgotten their waterproofs and get their bits wet! Haha

So, I thought I had better take the vacuum pump apart and give it a clean out. Its too crusty and the diaphragms are a bit crap. So may as well get a new un!

Anyone have a recommendation? ;)

The OEM unit is used in Polaris quads. There are details ear. I got a brand new OEM pump for £35 quid! That was a few years back but ya can prolly still get um. Fart number is on ear somewhere.

Else you can replace arsey Tate's in old pump. I did this and sent out some freebies. Don't have the templates or arseytate to hand but it ain't difficult and I recently took mine apart to check all ok.. and it was.

I might clean them up and see what I can do. Still order a new one so I can have a spare mind.
The bike needs to run sweet before I start trying to figure out this speedo! Haha

Well, my home made gaskets dont leak! Made a fuel level helperer, 14mm to help me set the floats! I just need to set the idle now. Seems to run a bit better with the vacuum pipe on #2 connected and the idle screw turned out 2.5 times on #1 instead of none.

for measuring fuel levels i just bit the bullet and bough the Yamaha service tube all nicely calibrated - then you do it in situ and none of the faffing about trying to get the correct angle the carbs sit at on the bench

i might if asked nicely lend it out

In the end it wasnt the levels, there was a bit of dried paint between the seat and needle. But, I got it out and checked the levels again with my version ;) haha

Thank you for the offer, Ill keep that in mind if I need it! Haha

So, ordered a new fuel pump from banggood. Got a discount code and it knocked it down to under a tenner.
My current pump has allowed fuel to get into the vacuum hose after leaving the bike to stand for a couple of days. So, thats no good!
Itll explain why it backfires a lot! Haha so, other than that, its all cosmetic and securing other things and also getting the tacho to work. Then mot. Hurry up!!!

Have got one of them in the shed for a few years, think I'll install it now. The bike doesn't start froim winter storage, suspect vacuum pump diaphragm to be worn out (cheepo chinese £10 version).
