Hi everyone, its about time that I officially said hello.
I've been watching/loitering on this forum for the last few months, been very informative and you all seem like sensible people (well most of you!!).

Time has come to upgrade from my 10 year old Aprilia Pegaso 650 and get a real bike ?? , been interested in getting a TDM, seems to tick all the right boxes for me, physical size (i ain't small) enough BHP and torque, riding position etc..

On Friday Im picking up my new TDM900 (sure im not gay, but all my boyfriends think im quite butch!!) 05 plate, 18000 miles, FSH, new Avon Storm tyres F+R, new service and first MOT. and its in the best colour BLUE.

The dealer i'm getting the bike from (Speedwell Motorcycles, Bristol) is also a TDM rider currently on his fifth, a nice 07 bike in black.

As you've probably just guessed i'm from Bristol, so will hopefully be able to meet up with some of you if there are any South West / South Central meetings organised. Was thinking about attending the "10 valve" avebury meeting on easter saturday but was'nt sure if my "5 valve" pegaso would be welcomeLooking at the weather, it was a good choice to stay indoors.

Suspect I will be asking lots of daft question over the next few weeks. . .

Hope we all have a great summer doing what comes naturally wub.gif . . . (riding our bikes, what were you thinking. . .)

Cheers from the SW

DazzerB (Darrin)

Welcome. you could have made up for Readmarx and his excessive number of valves laugh.gif Was a little chilly though and the visability riding home in the snow wasn't too good...maybe you made the right choice.

Hello everyone.

I have just joined as I found the site whilst searching for technical info on an engine problem I have.

I have had my 04 TDM 900 for 2 years now and love it! Its got the full givi wingrack and luggage, auto com, Road angel sat nav, MTC cans, touring screen and crash bungs.

I bought it for a road trip with the Mrs and we went away for 2 mths on it round central and eastern europe. I origionally planed to to sell it when I got back but I just cant seem bring myself to do it. It does everything! I even managed a couple of track days on it last year.. ohmy.gif

I live in Leamington and do most of my riding 2 up (hence the auto com) all around the peaks, cotswolds and wales.

Its good to see so many people regularly posting.

As far as the engine problem I have if nayone has any suggestions, they would be much appreciated? i get a clunking noise related to engine speed, on idle, that comes on a couple of minutes after start up and then goes about 15 minutes later. I origionaly thought it was exhaust noise however I cant finad anything lose / holes etc. You cant hear it when going along only on idle.

Thanks

Ben

Hi guys, Ive been hanging around for the last week since I bought my 03 TDM900 (I thought it was a 02 but the sticker under the seat tells me 03)
Ive been riding since I was 12 yo and had a road lic when I was 17.
My first road bike was a CB250 but was before I got my lic and got a GN250 for my 1 year as required by West Aust law and went to a GSX750 for a few years but upgraded to a GSX1100 for better pillion pulling power for when the misses came along.

Did the whole having kids thing and found no time for riding anymore so the bike was sold and I went without for 5 years.
I bought my boy a trailbike at 7 and got myself a XR600 and he outgrew 3 bikes in a couple of years and now he's 14 and on a 250 and I got a XR650R for the off road stuff which is lic for the road as well.

The misses decided she wanted to get her lic for bikes so she got a GV250 hyosung crusier and I was giving her lessons with me on the XR650 but I cant ride that thing in a sensible manner(wheelies are to easy and to much fun)so I bought a GV650 hyosung and really enjoyed getting back into road ridin but the hyo has a very low seat hight and I'm 6'5" tall and it was giving my back and ass hell so I started looking for a replacement and the TDM was at my dealer sitting all nice and high and a quick test ride later and I bought it.

I've spent the last 3 day's going back over the last 90 odd pages of "all about tdm" so I'm not asking the same old questions again. Some good info in that lot and I've got some great tips on improving the TDM from you guys so I thought it fair to pay to subcribe.

Great site and looking forward to getting to know the members.

Thanks
Johnno

yeah the gv250 has been a great little starter bike but the misses wants something a little sportier with more power.
There is a great and friendly forum called alternative crusiers that can get you hooked up with some cheap parts and acc's for the Hyo if you need any and good info for problems and tips (just like this friendly place).

http://www.alternativecruisers.com/

hope i'm not breaking any rules posting a link to a differant forum but for anything Hyosung related it is a great site

Hello,

Well, i picked up my 1996 TDM 850 a couple of weeks ago from a mates brother who was in dire straits (not the band). Being the vulture I am I snapped her up for a bargain price and feel guilty, but she's got a lovely new home now!

She's got just under 10k on her, and a full akrapovic 2-1 system with the carbon can.

Started to tidy her up slowly, stripping bits down when i've got time as she's been stood outside shivering for the last 6 months. I've already taken the Renthal bars off and put the standard ones back on.

Currently riding a 2003 GSF600S Bandit which will be donated to my wife when she's passed her test (hopefully in around a month).

Plans are:

1. get rest of fairing tidied up
2. strip & clean & replace seals & fluid on brakes
3. get wife through direct access
4. find some luggage (not sure wether to go for hard or soft - any ideas?)
5. finally get to ride the TDM!

Will post some pics once i've got her tidied up (may be a while yet!)

Jez.
