Fitted braided front hoses. Don't seem quite right but they'll do the job. Put some really awful mirror brackets on the bars to hold the handguards, and screwed some genuine Yamaha fairing screws in. Only one tool needed to remove panels now.
Tested all the electrics, gave it a bluff good once over- I think she's ready for an mot tomorrow.

Pleased with the new Givi luggage, in the realms of planning a road trip in august with a mate. To make it intresting we've decided to take in military museums along the way... and there's some good ones out there.

Bagged an absolute bargain on eBay, a full set of Trekkers 2 x 32lt & the 52lt top box delivered for £320. Just think it was 'right time, right place' moment but I'm not complaining :-)

She's passed ! Just a few more cosmetic items, a carb balance and possible carb swap, and then she'll be up fer sale. In the interests of making sure she's 100% ready I'll have to insure it, tax it, and test ride it quite a lot.

Honestly honey, I'm selling it. Yes I know she could stay in the garage but if I take her out more people will see she's for sale. Also she might get stolen from the garage. Or lonely. Seems a shame to do all this work and not get a few rides out of her. And I need to make sure she's running properly. And the new owner will want to know how many MPG she does.

Yes I'll stop calling her she.

Or her.

Sorry.

MOT passed at the main dealer !

MOT tester said that the bike was minted, passed with flying colours and was amazing for a bike with 97000 miles

Well chuffed

So after leaving the centre I took the long way home to scrub the tyres in and check out the 17" front wheel.....What a difference that wheel makes !

I've also moved the bar risers from the 850 to the 900, it feels a lot better at my wrists now

I'm going to bite the bullet and get rainbow coloured panties and keep the 9er. Sorry 850 but, you're better off with someone else now.... !

And all the remaining mk2 850 engine parts, bottom end, barrels and head, I've put on a pallet and am donating it to mk2 owner in Oz (tdm 850 Facebook group) for free, He is sorting out the shipping, so I'll have a lot more room in the garage soon !

Decided to have a check of my valve shims, have another attempt to get rid of the popping (still running a bit rich) and found out that the last owner believed the thermostat wasn't needed. Fun times.

Cheers.

And today i went to the Bikes on the beach run at Kirckaldy, must have been a couple hundred bikes. Rode from there to St Andrews for a chip butty....St Andrews didn't know what had hit it !...Then ice cream and cake in Pittenweem ...then the coast road back to the Forth Bridge with mates on their Victory High Ball and Harley V-Red.........   they couldn't seem to get around the corners anywhere nearly as well as me. Isn't that odd ;)  They do sound great though....

New air filter, new oil filter and fully synth oil as recommended to me. Finished the oil change, was disposing of the old oil and discovered the o ring from the oil filter. So I did it all over again :-)

I've raised the whole screen 10mm off the fairing to stop buffering over the helmet. so far it's working well

Back wheel was binding so took them apart to find some water ingress behind the seals even though the seals look new and are in very good condition.

20170514_164143.jpg

Even though the pots moved reasonably freely i could'nt remove one of them after splitting, so i blanked of the bleed hole with a cut off of inner tube under the oring and put them back together to only bleed the one side and push the problem pot out, worked a treat.

took out my swingarm tonight and then tried to get the lower bolt off the shock.

I can turn it using a spanner but it won't come off :(

I have a cunning plan using an air chisel and kinetic energy.

just got new swing bearings (same as fz600, fzr600, FZS600 etc etc) off ebay for a tenner inc caps I already have a new inner tube from a past FZ600 purchase, so alls good there.

I've just taken my swing arm off too. Is it supposed to have a dust cap at both ends? Mine (9er) just had the one on the chain side ... unless it flicked off into the bushes ...
