Got it thoroughly wet on the third day of a tour of Scotland visiting railway stations for my Club's annual Challenge. In total I visited nine from Ballater up to Forsinard and across to Plockton and six others, and rode 759 miles. First two days had lovely weather.
If you are in the area go see Dunrobin Castle and the falconry display, then pop across the main road and see what major landowning wealth bought as a personal railway station. There is even a siding on the platform, presumably for a private carriage to park.
I was escorted out of Armadale harbour on the ferry by a pod of dolphins doing the full "fly out of the water" move. Magic.
If anyone is intending to go thru' Fort William in the near future be prepared for major queues on the North and West approaches. There is a road development just north of the centre with a new roundabout.
