Just to add my 2 cents. Got home Monday afternoon via Belfast and Dublin. Brilliant weekend with as fine a group of (mainly old) loonies as you might ever meet. Thanks to Nanook for the organising and to everyone for making me feel welcome and Mark for the final cuppa. Can we do it again please?

Hey Chris have you managed to wash off that cow patt my bike threw all over your bike on caldbeck wink.gif

and I hope you made the ferry in plenty of time (was my guestimate of 3 hours carlisle to stranraer close? )

great to meet you, and i may start adopting some of your activities to see if i can get fit for my old age laugh.gif

Great to see that everyone got home safely without any other "incidents".

I'd like to add my thanks to Nanook for organising a great event. How a Health and Safety adviser can promote an event including high speed motorcycling, ingestion of toxic fluids, inhalation of hallucinogenic smoke ( and Wikki's farts) is beyond me, but I have to say very well done.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet everyone. I think by the end of the weekend I just about remembered everyone's name and George was sent back to Coventry.

TD and CG, glad you enjoyed your suggested route back dawn sarf. I think with a bit od effort we could organise a Pennine based rideout to incorporate both a Dales and a Peak District rideout. Tea and cake stops permitting of course!

Here's looking forward to the next one.

Cow pat removal will probably happen during the annual clean. You chucked it at me at about the only time I was within shouting distance of your back wheel so it hit the bike rather than rising into my face!

Ferry trip was easy, no traffic at all so, following your suggested speed, I was there by 6.30. This gave me time to discover what a dismal place Stranraer is! Nobody from Stranraer listening is there?

You looked pretty fit going up Hartside!

There also was a blue metal drinking bottle/thermos sitting on the kitchen counter when I left. I did not see much point in bringing it along to Norway, so I just left it there.

Thanks to you all, I had a really great time and my bike handling has improved greatly. Got no chicken strip on the right hand side of my rear tyre now after following YNOTTONY on that last stretch saturday afternoon!!! Mind you my mirrors must be plasma based as I still have a permanent mark of that crazy scottish PC who followed me on that last bit (sorry forgot his name, must be George). Still makes me laugh cos when I asked him why he didnt just over take he replied "you were going too fast". Only cos I was too scared to slow down incase I ended up with a pillion!!! I was going to stop and do it in a bag at one point (you had to be there) Once again thank you to everyone for a great few days and once I have lost all this weight I put on we will have to do it again.
