The Panther is a blast to ride. 55/60 flat out and cruises at about 50mph. The front brake doesn't and the back will lock the wheel. I can do 100 mile in a day on that bike and only have a slightly sore arse. But the rough roads do hurt you back if you are not aware. After riding that I do have to be carefull with the brakes on any modern bike. I usually use way too much force the first few times I use the twin disc set up.
I did try my light tonight when it got dark. With me sat on it it did seems a bit too high so i have adjusted the light down a bit. I tried looking from across the road at about car height and it doesn't seem to dazzle. I need to give it a try on an actual ride though

engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

I heard (i think I did), a whirr on the overun while riding throiugh Germany. It was quite a hot day and I was making some spirited progress . Just checking my hearing as much as the bike, (if it had been a high pitched whine then I'd know it was my lugs)..
Valve clearances will be checked as routine (even though they were done around 6000 miles ago), as will camchain, oilways etc.
I'll take the XS play out of throttle cables too. General inspection n cleaning - aux wiring tidying ..........
It helps keep me out of the pub.....until tomorrow.

Rebuilt the back end of Muddy's old 900. Swingarm out, pedal hangers off, all bearings and bushings checked, cleaned and repacked with grease, new disk and pads. Moving on to the front soon

Assembled after investigating the phantom whirr - nowt amiss - so it's all in MY head
Oil & filter change then back in the shed as it's an Altea clutch replacement tonight.

Received a pressure sensor to construct a DIY fuel gauge:
How would that measure fuel? No pressure, no fuel?

The sensor can measure the static pressure of the fuel column above it. As the tank gets emptier, the pressure becomes lower.How would that measure fuel? No pressure, no fuel?
Of course I would like to know the fuel is ALMOST gone, and not when the tank is empty...

that's a sensitive bit of kit. didn't know they existed.

Indeed, I had to seach for it a long time: the combination of fuel resistant and this sensitivity is indeed hard to come by. Especially for an acceptable price, as it will only be a fuel gauge, not a rocket to the moon .
Now waiting for a hose barb adapter.

Fitted a new Varta battery. Last Yuasa only lasted 3/4 years but I'm a bugga for letting it go flat.

How are you going to use the signal from this to communicate with you...the interface ? My mind wandered to thinking that as you go over bumps and leaps (maybe not leaps but crests) the pressure is going to fluctuate. Do you hook it up to a slow reacting meter ?

I will hook it up to an arduino programmable microcontroller. That way I can play around with it in the software and give the signal some filtering. In fact that way it behaves like a slow reacting meter. A tank's float (which my 4TX from 1997 does not have) will also bounce around a bit as the fuel flushes around. The pressure sensor is somewhat more sensitive, though.

I suppose that given the fact you don't expect the fuel level to drop quickly, and assuming the sensor outputs a variable DC voltage, just adding a series resistor&capacitor, in parallel with the sensors will do all the filtering you need.
Google 'RC low pass filter'. Select a frequency of , 0.1Hz and you should be good to go, no rapid signal changes will get through

I just nearly wept over her when I was presented with a £288 bill for the fitting of new HEL braided hoses and pads all round. I SUPPLIED THE KIT, PADS AND DOT4!!
Does anyone have an averaged time for completing such work and is it as complicated as these "experts" are telling me?

Well i have never done ABS to be honest and bleeding brakes can often be a pain but given that these are supposed to have the knowledge AND the equipment i think you have had ya kegs pulled down and been truly spanked, i just had 90% of me bike powder coated for that kind of money, it's hard to go back and get in someones face about it, did they give an explanation to the complication ?
