Looked at it and realised, with the current emergency, I'd better lay it up and get the smart charger out.
Weather just getting perfect an all, probably write the year off. :(

Bugger isn't it !  I'm into my fifth day of solitary house arrest, here in France. Solitary, because my wife decided to visit relatives in Glasgow and now she's no idea when she'll get home. Great fun.

I'm allowed to " Briefly leave the house for the purpose of physical activity on an individual basis and only in proximity of the house"  I don't see me getting them to accept a run on my TDM fitting into that, do you ?

I think it's slowly heading that way. A bit like martial law. No big public gatherings, pubs, schools, etc. all closed. Rumour is it'll get worse over the next 3 months.

I've been pretty much stuck in because of my damaged wrist. Trouble is no heavy bike repairs, no playing guitar, etc.- can only watch telly.

With UK being slow to act we may find the rest of Europe clear and us not being allowed in anywhere!

I'm gonna try and get a few bike runs in next week, just in case I'm/we're forced to isolate.  I reckon we might be a couple of weeks away from that and might not even happen if we all do our thing.

Fired her up today, still using the 18 month old fuel.  Ticked over nicely once warmed up. :)  Must be the Redex keeping the fuel fresh and stopping the carbs from getting blocked.

I reckon I'm no more at risk on the bike than at home, so on Friday went a run to Kelso, 150-odd miles. Sun was that bright I was squinting behind the helmet sun visor.

I was armed with workshop gloves for the refuelling, sanitiser in case, my own drink and snack and a prepared speech if someone got too close - I'm in the 70+ demographic.

Nearest approach was by a friendly dog, and it took all my self-restraint to not pet it.

I'm trying to work out where the pay-at-pump stations are.

wow i wonder if that'll happen in the UK!

Looks like it's heading that way, Boris was slow to react
The UK today has more deaths that either China or Italy had at this stage so prepare for lock down very soon.
I work in a school and we've been closed for 10 days already to try to slow the rate of infection, since then I've also restricted the movement of my family, kids not meeting up with others and only the wife and myself going to the shops.
On a more positive note I'm in the middle of building on to the workshop for extra storage and have a treadmill and stationery bike for working out when we go into lock down,
Prepare for the worst and hope for the best !
Stay safe everyone.

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

This was only just over 2 weeks ago in Italy. People swearing that they wouldn't stop kissing.   It was just a matter of time. Spain is also very kissy, as is France. Hopefully the fact that we're more reserved than all of them will go in our favour.. Have to say that in light of this Italy was very slow to react.

Also, northern Italy has a particularly high Chinese population, which travels regularly back and forth to China, including Wuhan, because the Chinese own a very large amount of the Italian fashion houses in the north, and employ over 200,000 Chinese in that area

It's easy to criticise our government, but step by step it has followed the advice of a well respected professor and epidemiologist, Chris Whitty

Cleaned the mouldy flies off the screen, it must have been a damp winter as I've never seen splatted flies go mouldy on a bike before in a garage or outside.

And went for a short blat. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if we have tighter restriction by next week with groups still meeting up in parks and such (and sharing spliffs), it's the only way the powers that be are going to slow the spread.

I'm no fan of Boris and never been loyal to any party especially the tories but I have to say I recon he's doing a pretty good job given the shitstorm he's been handed, he's holding back on knee-jerk responses and sticking to what science can give, the thought of corbyn at the helm right now terrifies me.

I'm hoping to hell he's far cleverer than he looks.

Why do they need proof of the microchip. Can't they tell its a dog from looking at it. I think I can indentify a dog by sight.

My mut will get fitter for sure, luckily I'm on the edge of a town and just have to cross a playing field to get out into open fields.

It sounds like the police will only be enforcing if people are taking the wee and in groups, if you are out on your own in open space I think you will get left alone.(but not if you are sat having a picnic in the middle of a park)
