I dunno, I think we got a pretty decent summer this year, I quite enjoyed it. I could count the number of times I got caught in the rain on one hand. Lets hope next year is as good.
I'm just back from a holiday in Greece (they need the money even more that we do in Ireland). On mainland Greece, at least where I was around the South coast mountain area (Delphin) the roads are devoid of traffic, are of German quality (well, they did pay for them!) and to top it all there are TDMs everywhere, I have never seen so many.
Maybe a good location for a RTT some year?
APW
Have you ever lent someone 20 quid and never seen it again? It was probably worth it.
Long Loved TDM is no longer with me...

Replaced the baffle box with a two way splitter! Man is it loud! Makes my ears want to bleed.
But I love the roar when the rev's build up on full throttle!!!
And there is definitely a increase in power. The bike is such a pleasure to ride, the balance and handling is great.
The tires are almost smooth and I will try some semi off road ones next, perhaps.. Michelin Sirac/ Anakee ?
What say carpe?

i'd stick with road biased tyres if yer mainly on tarmac and gentle tracks.
spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.
I loike tay and hang sangwiches !

Thanks wicklamulla, we have a lot of well used ground roads in the Eastern Cape and I was hoping to put something like this on..
Mitchelin-sirac look like a good on / off road tyre.
ohhh they do look good, alas i have no experience of these or udder dual use type tyres, wonder how they would handle hi speed cruising on tarmac....?

Pretty similar tread pattern to the Metzeler Tourances that adorn most GS's - so they should make a good dual purpose tyre
Now I'll have to do a search to see if you can get them here - I'm sure my Mk2 will be up for some new ones come Spring
The older I get, the better I was
96 MkII in yellow & silver with bluespots, braided lines, Remus 2 into 1, Hagon rear shock & fork springs, bashplate, heated grips,Motech pannier racks, Road Attacks, Jockoiler, Baglux tank cover & bag. Gone to a far better place - hasn't it Remo?
Another 96 Mk2 in yellow & silver - absolutely standard & pristine ( apart from a butchered rear mudguard - but I'm looking for a new one

Put back the oem screen. Really like it! Works well.
The dash needs replacing and i will see if i can buy one, as well as a new screen. As the old one is slightly modified.
