140 is the standard size main jet.  Prolly best to phone them.  iirc the neoprene pipes dont bear up well to ethanol.

Thanks Studley. :good: I`ll give them a call and see if they`re ok to substitute a 140 in place of the 142. Any suggestions for the best pipe for use with ethanol and kink avoidance?

I bought these about 6years ago for my 3vd and they're still supple and doesn't kink on the bends.

So I ordered the rebuild kits from NRP, and when I pointed out that they have it listed as a 142 main jet and it should be a 140, he checked, found it should be 140 and was surprised it had not been pointed out before.  Sent me kits with the correct 140`s, not changed their listing yet so I hope not too many going around running rich! When I was changing the needles I bent one of the e-clips beyond use  so I rang them to see if I could buy a replacement and they sent me two FOC the next day. Big up to NRP :clapping:

Anyhoo, stripped cleaned and built them up and it started almost instantly and appears to be running well  :good: As I put it back together I realised that the two pipes, which have the valve half way down and attach to the elbows at the top of the carbs are missing. Are they just breathers and are they critical? I don`t want to fully bolt everything back together if they must be fitted or can it wait until I`ve got hold of a couple of used ones?

Those are vent-to- atmosphere pipes. You're engine will run without them but I bet it'll run shit once you get going. They're sensitive to airflow hence they're usually routed behind the engine block by the frame sides. I'd get them with the filters as you don't want crud entering the carb tops.

The valves are just filters and won't make much odds, if it's running fine don't worry about them.
