I knew the Gods were just messing with me.🤬🤬🤬 Bypass plug now ordered from fleabay. Thanks for the link Trev.

Although TDM out of action I was still able to able to get out for a ride and enjoy this fine weather. Picked up a 2yr old Royal Enfield Interceptor yesterday and have been having a hoot with it. So much so that when the alarm situation has been resolved there's a good chance Matlock's Big Yeller will be going back on the market.

I had this issue a few years ago with my 04 bike. I ripped it out and have never looked back. If your handy with the spanners it's relatively easy to do.
But.. I'm sure there's an easy option. You bridge 2 wires in the box and disconnect it. I'll see if I can find the link.
Maybe worth a wee search.

Personally I'd rather remove the whole unit than bridge cables the way he does but at least you can try that and if it works, sorted. If not you've not list anything as you could plug it back in.

The alarm has been removed, Trevini gave me a link to a site on ebay which sells a plug you insert into the wiring circuit that bypasses the alarm. Essentially just a neat way to bridge the cables. Bike back to full operation and now sold.

Aye up...any chance you could post up details or pic of the bypass doohickey please. I've just looked at my alarm, and the only wires available are a bunch of 3 which have been cut and taped. I'm assuming this is where the plug should be??

Thanks Trev, that looks a bit more complex than I had in mind tbh. I just know that one day, probably when I'm miles from home in a blizzard, the immobiliser / alarm will let me down, so I'm just looking for the "plug and play" option for now.

The plug and play option still requires the alarm unit to be dismantled, but there are many videos on you tube if you search. It’s dead easy to sort out, unlike full removal which is time consuming and sometimes frustrating. Either way, you’re best rid of it, especially when they’re so easy to bypass.

Thanks again Trev...I'll have a crack at it when tim allows. It's getting on for 20 yrs old now....the sounder just meeows, but the immobiliser is fully operational....it just feels like a time bomb!!

A warranty?? That's news to me!Does that mean he owes me £11 for the plug and play item? 🤣

I've just recived and fitted the bypass kit to my Datatool S4 red alarm / immobiliser. There is no need to dismantle the alarm whatsoever, just unplug the 10 pin connector, replace with the bypass plug and Robert is indeed your mother's brother. It was a bit confusing, because just about everything on yoootooob shows butchery inside the alarm sounder, as stated by Trev above, whereas in fact, the only thing you need to do with it is dispose of it responsibly as recommended by your local council.

Yep looks like things have moved on Trev, although from a security point of view, it may be TOO easy to bypass now!!
