Can't help ya with 9er differences... whatever the differences they ain't not a patch on da mk1. It takes peeps a long time to learn this...but the 9er is a good enough place to start the learnin. (‿)

Mine is a 2010 model (non ABS). Add heated grips and an Airhawk and you have a great bike which will handle 3-400 mile days as well as commuting. The bike is narrow and easily slips between traffic when commuting. It is a joy to push through the twisties.
