FAVS,,
OK, I gotta ask though, why would anyone want to ride a bike at 30mphish with their hands off the bars? and then wonder why the bars waggle a bit??? unsure.gif unsure.gif
Stormy,
Occasionally one may need to make adjustment to oneself in the manliness department. Whilst I may not need both hands to acomplish this manoeuvre, it is neccesary to stand up at times, thus no hands on bars. Wobble wobble weavle and rapidly sit down to grasp handlebars and even worse (trapped testes arrrgggh).

Well thanks all for the responses and entertainment all appreciated.
I finished up with a set of steel motocross bars (local brand) @ $25 Aus (as opposed to Renthals at $90Aus and up) plus some aftermarket ends of the 'rubber bung and tighten em up carefully' sort.
Fitting went well except for the throttle cable cover doovers which disassembled themselves and then went all sulky and refused to cooperate...and when I did get it all back together I realised I'd got the cables arse about and had to start again!
Having measured everything up on the old bars I then found out that I'd cut the new ones down a bit too generously by about 5mm so the throttle side bar end is attached a bit tenuously otherwise it would lock the twist grip....
I wont mention that half way through the swap the bloody thing fell off the sidestand (parked side on on a slope, luckily on the front lawn not the drive!) Must look for a slightly shorter stand, the stocker keeps things a bit too upright and the foot isnt big enough to gt enough traction on concrete.whinge bloody whinge, moan. No damage ...well a little bit.
All done but took a fair bit of fettling as the new ones are a bit too low and I've got various gouges and scrapes in the fairing bits to show for it (mainly from the fall.
It all goes to prove Murphys 99th law. ie the 50/50/90 rule which states "If theres a 50/50 chance of getting something right then you'll FUBAR it 90% of the time!

cheers Giza. I'd love to test ride it but its bloody pi**in down ...Sunny Qld my a*se!
