An extra 100 miles or so might just kill my chances of making it......God knows how the Southern Boys would fare....

And that's just time.........not even considering petrol

I think a halfway house like Bellingham much more practical

The older I get, the better I was

Spreading the load on petrol will be the fair decider, which would seem to point to the Borders/N. Yorks. sort of area. But is Bellingham "old hat" already?

If we go for Ft Bill there are two downsides me old mate - it's usually persisting down (it's officially logged as the wettest place in NW Europe!) and for the campers there are the midges.

Trouble with N.Yorks per se is the roads are well monitered albeit fixed camera free.
Though if N.Yorks does seem welcoming I am sure myself and others could create an enjoyable route.

Funnily enough, I was think about that neck of the woods myself. It's not an area I'm familiar with, but I've heard there's some cracking roads!

I can't remember lasy years price but the 'real' price is £15 pppn but as I've reserved the whole bunkhouse we get it for £205 per nigh which equates to £54 each for the two nights so a little bit of a saving really. And don't forget that the price includes the bed linen so no need to cart that around on the bike.
