took the carbs out and had to drill a seized screw out on the carb top

managed to do it by hand and cut the thread, all good again.

Taking the engine out to fit the new cycle head. Also going to paint engine and check bores etc.

should be fun

certainly tricky. clamped the carbs in my workmate and was very careful.

not as hard as drilling the exhaust studs though. those were heat cycled hardened

i've taken mine off for now as it funnelled air directly into my helmet. it improved when I raised the whole thing off the fairing by 10mm. makes linear air flow

Black 10mm acetal would work, just drill 5mm hole down the rod part off, job done.

I used some closed cell foam I had laying around and used that in a strip, bottom 2 were 10mm ally tube with washers.
Lee's way would be neater

Am I right in thinking I would need m5 x 10mm spacers and m5 x 25mm bolts to raise the screen as suggested?

I have just had a thought regarding this 10mm spacer modification...

instead of 10mm in all 6 fasteners,  how about  5mm [bottom] 10mm [middle]  15mm [top]  this would adjust the rake of the screen.

or try it the other way 15mm at the bottom, and 5mm at the top...

this is just a thought....  has anyone tried it?
