Discovered what a complete moron I am, had a run after fitting a new clutch cable and found it was a world of difference, I went down the line of looking to do a hydraulic clutch conversion, bought some bits off fleabay that turned out to be no use at all only to start removing the clutch cover thinking the basket had notches down the side and realised just how buggered my clutch cable was! Why the feck did I not check that first? I'm a greasemonkey FFS (sorry, aero engineer apparently), it cost me £55 for the hydraulic bits and I fully deserve the hit for my stupidity! I know my hands are weaker than they used to be and lacking coordination but putting a shit clutch cable down to my ms ranks in the realms of blaming a small cock on not plugging the optimate in.(and I'll use that excuse one day)

The things you admit to when pissed............

Had a ride round the Yorkshire dales for a couple of hours - saw 1 other MC heading where I'd already been. A lot of MC on the popular B roads - I opted for more obscure routes antisocial distancing :P

Lots of gravel in places other than gravel pits.

Temporary fitment of new input pipe on exhaust. Ready to tack weld in place. Caught by thunderstorm, so'll have to wait...

Welded exhaust after a couple of hours training and adjusting MIG welder. As you see, not great craftmanship, but at least I now manage to make the metal fuse properly. A bit of practice remains to producing the kind of seams that you'd just polish and proudly present  ;)

Also located two largish holes that needed padding.

Off for getting some sand blasting gear, hopefully painted tonight.

Out for my second ride on the TDM. I was a little concerned at the gearchanging as I've been riding my dct CT for the past three years and have got out of the habit. I adjusted the pedal (thanks Norwegian!) and I'm now just a little concerned that I may have insufficient threads in one end or the other, but the locknuts are tight and it will manage until I get it checked by my mechanic next week. Rear brake pedal adjusted also. That's fine. Now waiting for the mirror extenders to arrive and looking at other accessories I need. I'm just delighted with the bike, which is so nimble after the CT. Cornering is a new delight for me, as is slow speed handling.

2008 TDM900 in beautiful black.  Fender extender, after market Bullster touring screen, radiator guard, RM-G crash bars, 12V/USB socket, Oxford heated grips, Bagster tank cover, centre stand, E22 Givi panniers, standard exhausts. Beautiful Acerbis hand guards. <p>2015 Honda Crosstourer Highlander dct. Fabulous bike, but getting heavier as I age. The 9er is its replacement, eventually.

Amazed today. I ordered the mirror extenders that Norwegian recommended and I am thrilled with them. They arrived only two days after ordering and they fit so well. A superb addition to the bike and they get rid of the 'orrible rubber cover which I disliked. If I ever learn how to upload pictures to this site, I will. Why does it have to be so complicated?
