a double weekend for me (carpe TDM G2G and also staying with old chums)

thanks to Joe (Nanook) for organising, and to Chris (Matlock) for coming back to my aid when I got the puncture on one of most remote roads in UK, and especially to
Andrew the good samaritan who stopped in his van and saved my weekend

Relieved to see neither Colin or Tiff were badly hurt - get well soon!

Looks like a fantastic adventure apart from the incidents ................. wishing everyone fast healing. Good thing it wasn't your ring finger Tiff blush.gif

I broke my ring finger 2years ago. That was on a push bike though. Haha. It gives me an excuse to have a bigger wedding ring!

But bloody hell! I let a few of you out of my sight for a few minutes and it's soddin' carnage on the roads excl.gif Seriously, though, I'm glad there are no serious injuries lads and lass - just your pride buggered I guess!

I'd already decided I was bound to drop it, keeping up with all you lads, It was just a case of how far on into the holiday.

You bunch of slackers all sloping off early. TD & myself currently lunching in a cake shop somewhere in the peak district. Should make it home this evening.

No it's obviously not very lucky.

& fat chap did what needed to be done.

But at least they didn't hang it around my neck.


But I suppose the Cormorant had the last laugh, I've just worked out the repair cost of my bike, somewhere in the region of 850 quid!!!

Ouch, is that using all new parts or can you get some of the panels second hand?

That's replacing the broken ones with new, and having the nearside panel resprayed.

RH outer panel...........168.91
RH inner panel............ 27.10
Headlamp surround complete .... 378.05
Decals X 2................30.00
rub down and respray LH outer panel......100.00
LH inner panel..............27.10
Various bolts,screws and fittings..... 25.00
Total........756.16
+ VAT......132.33
Total.........888.49
I'm hoping to get a better quote for the respray.

Im sure that the new panels will be much stronger, they must be made of fekking gold!!!!

Black 1991 850 MK1, 160k+ miles(ish, best guess really, gave up trying to keep count after 3rd set of clocks and 3rd engine), PilotRoad2 tyres, custom stubby exhaust system, bluespot calipers & goodridge braided hoses with dunlopads, maxton forks, Ohlins shock, kedo handguards, stainless TDM grill, Scottoiler with lubetube & dual nozzle thingy, Givi Wingrack2 with E45 & 2xE36s, renntec crash bars, Autocom with blueteeth & PMR radio, TomTom Rider2, Optimate IIIsp, Bagster tank cover, anti-dazzle coating
to fit : led spotlights, heated grips, new braided lines and rear caliper that actually has bleed nipples

Got home about 8:30, to find my dinner just being put on the table wub.gif Forgot to check my mileage before I left, but think it's somewhere over 1800 miles, and used 1.25 litres of oil.
