Social networking at its best! I've just fitted one of Rafals big foot side stand extender and I'm dead chuffed with the result. I'm having the Rafal crash bars fitted on Thursday, to replace the standard (Yamaha?) engine protectors, which will then be sold on here. Lee (Hendy) has fitted Rafals centre stand and big foot, and Steve will get his Rafal big foot shortly. And if anyone thinks they're missing out, I still have one Rafal big foot, in black, for sale at £35. It just shows the value of this site in uniting owners for their mutual benefit.

2008 TDM900 in beautiful black.  Fender extender, after market Bullster touring screen, radiator guard, RM-G crash bars, 12V/USB socket, Oxford heated grips, Bagster tank cover, centre stand, E22 Givi panniers, standard exhausts. Beautiful Acerbis hand guards. <p>2015 Honda Crosstourer Highlander dct. Fabulous bike, but getting heavier as I age. The 9er is its replacement, eventually.

Done a couple of hundred miles with recent clutch spring set up, seems ok

39T rear is a little tall and you can tell on on both Mway, A, n back roads. It is OK though and the engine is a lot more relaxed at Mway work.

Stoner T31s seem ok in the damp but I haven't had a real wet test yet as if was too foggy this morning to go fast enough

Rafals crash bars and light brackets fitted today with some LED running lights. Serious protection for the fairing, I think. Also sold the last of the big feet.

I thought on very tight steep hills in Lake District the gearing was slightly too tall as standard.

Fitted me control box for the oiler and plumbed into existing Scott oiler as still waiting for tank to arrive. Eventually the scottoiler will go and vacuum port blanked off.

Removed tank, cleaned it using the nuts'n bolts trick (anyone explained how to get the scrap out afterwards? I needed to use a neodymium magnet taped to a stick...).
Tank full of water and red rust-gunk.
Removed and cleaned float bowls. Hopefully the new fuel cap will stop this from happening....

Tried to lower the needles one notch, as I suspected it to run a tad bit rich. Test ride- seemed like this made it a bit lean - backing off the throttle a few degrees made it pull stronger under heavy load.

So - set clips back to middle notch.

Reset pilots to std 3 turns out, attached my new €12 vaacum gauges and adjusted balance. It was noticably out, ticked over much smoother after adjustment.

As I didn't have my jump leads at hand, I resorted to install battery upside down lying on top of frame to make room for adjustment. Worked a treat

Discovered a couple of new cracks in fairing mounts, so have to deal with them before reassembly.

Phew!!!

I used clay bar on tank after I finished washing (etc.), the car this morning - surprised how rough paint was on both.

Fixed cracks in 2 plastic parts, a bit worrying seeing them fall into pieces being 27 years old....

The superglue+powder kit seems to work well !

Took it for a 40km drive, definately runs better after balancing carbs  :)

First night out in the dark on the 900 last night. The dipped beam would make a good anti aircraft searchlight, and the running lights on the crash bars were looking for worms six feet in front of the bike. I found the downwards adjuster, but it seems to turn many times to get the lights lower. Still a bit high now but better, and the bar lamps will now blind everyone who sees me!

Put threaded inserts in fuel tap. Cheapo ones, worked well. Think that's the softest metal I ever drilled...which was good as I could do it holding it with one hand and lines attached 😀

Crashed it in soft grass at less than walking pace. Ran off road into soft mud and it tipped over. Rafals crash bars held it up in the mud and grass. No damage at all not even a scratch.
The ford before was a bit of an oo er moment when it turned out it was deeper than I thought. Air bag vest deployed so that's cost me a new gas cylinder.
