Made up and fitted a flip-up in ABS for the rear of my 9er hugger. Used some sheet abs in black, and double sided emblem fixing tape. ( That's the stuff they use to stick shit to blankets). So far so good, but my next ride will prove whether the theory is sound! Haha.

MOT for whitey. As usual passed with no ads. She's up to 23k now, was 14k in 2019
And then decided to detail the engine, as you do..

The demo ride was a hoot, what a brilliant little bike! Despite the bike being brand new(only 9 miles on the clock) the engine was a peach, free reving(allowing for the fact I was being mechanically sympathetic and keeping the revs down to 4,000) and had sufficient torque to keep it all entertaining. The handling was fine and it felt so light compared to the TDM.👍👍👍
The down side to the trip was discovering both my new fork seals are leaking slightly. Don't know if this due to me making an arse of fitting them or because I used pattern parts from Wemoto instead of genuine Yamaha seals.🤬🤬🤬

Took it out for a run over to Ecosse Motorcycles in Aberdeen. Wanted to try out the new fork oil and seals and also to have a demo ride on a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.

Hope so. After I had finished I did a fair bit of bouncing up and down on the forks to check for leaks and there was nothing showing. It was only after taking it for an extended run that anything appeared. I'll monitor the situation.😎

I haven't,Alan, don't see many around up here. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised with the Interceptor, just so easy to throw about and quicker than I was anticipating. Want to try an air cooled T100 as well.Have you tried a Kawasaki W800 JW? I have one and it's a great, nimble back road tool

Today, I decided to commit 4 figures to sorting my 900's suspension. Having come very closing to selling the TDM but deciding to invest in it instead of fronting cash on something else, I'm going on a spending spree to make it the bike I need it to be if it's to stay with me for the next few years.
- new seat to help the lumbar region and my girlfriend's forward migration under braking,
- a performance rear shock (Ohlins or Hyperpro TBD)
- drop-in parts for the forks, along with new stanchions
- professionally installed
Next month there'll be a centre stand. And if money allows, throatier cans as icing on the cake...
Bought for 3K, and all this together with the camchain and tensioner debacle 2 years ago will make it close to 4k invested!
But that engine is worth it!

after 2 years of ownership you'll know if it's the bike ya wanna keep and throw money at. I do the same with me boikes and trucks, i always buy used and get a feel for it and then splash on the required upgrades. I get a kick out of doing it to be honest.

Wired up a switched relay feeding into an auxiliary fuse box mounted under the right hand side fairing panel.
Means all the extras are wired into the same switched source and it has got rid of the plethora of dables running the full length of the bike
Cost about £10 for the fuse box ,a used relay and some wire

Sick of the rats nest of wiring around the battery area to power the sat nav, heated grips, spot lights, Koso gauge and power port.

Like it. Simple and very clean installation, and more sandwich space on top of the battery
Ohlins, PC3, fuel cut defeat, +4deg timing, 17" front wheel.

Ok, No.7 has had carb issues due to old fuel and for the last 3 years i never got around ta sorting it properly. It starts and runs (poorly) but i tink i needs ta pull the carbs apart and dunk 'em in the ultrasonic cleaner. In the mean time i tink i'll pull the carbs off of me udder (4TX4) MK2a and fit them to No.7 as it may be a quicker solution in the short term. I fettled Mole's Versys 650 and got it through an MOT over the weekend so i'm off to Wales camping on that with some old Carpe'rs, Studley and the CMC crew next weekend. No.7 will run again as i miss it.
