Parts list here, courtesy of XTZ forumhttp://rapidshare.co...rts_catalog.PDFManx, did you get the lower bracket too? Or just the upper one to the mirror stem?
I just got the top bracket, as far as I know the bottom one doesn't fit, they still seem pretty sturdy. I may try bending the top bracket up a bit, to give a bit more protection to the top of my hands.

Hm, just fitted the 1200 guards on me niner today. Didn't read this thread, so I bought the full kit (top+bottom bracket... The works !)... Guards fit like hand in glove, gotta whatch out that they don't get in contact with the fairing at full turn'o handlebars. Not reading this, I ended up setting the throttle cables over the guard (between mirror and bracket), as it seemed the shortes distance to turn the cable housing. Will post a few pics tomorrow, although it does look slightly like the rest of them wink.gif.

Just priced up some handguards in Fowlers and they have the Super Ten guards at £15.99 each plus £4.86 each for the top brackets, they also have the Suzuki hand guards for £48.95 all in.......... the magical question which do I go for, price wise not much in it so it's down to asthetics and whether they do exactly what they say on the tin, any thoughts folks?

I have just taken the DL ones off and replaced them with the XTZ12 ones.

Initial thoughts are that the Tenere ones look a millionty and 1 times better and give you a lot more lever/glove clearance also very easy to fit with no machining of ya barends.

Having not rode in the rain with them yet i can't really comment on how good they will be but they seem shallower and i feel the wind more although not had cold hands yet.

To summarize IMHO the DL ones may be more effective against the elements but by fookery the Tenere ones look better and still seem to do a good job

Just fitted some to my 2011 bike, very easy to do if you have a little mechanical knowledge and a drill and tap! I fitted the brackets on mine below the lock nut of the mirrors so no need to dismantle the mirror stalk assembly. Just needed to bend the left hand bracket up a little and file off the locating lug for the throttle so you can adjust it up a little to clear the bracket.

In my opinion they look much better than the Suzuki ones!

Thinking of fitting the Super Ten footpegs and handlebars next, anyone else done ths already?

Have you got any pictures you can share Moose? I'm interested in fitting hand guards but not too strong technically so I'm looking for the easiest option...... unsure.gif

It sounds like Yamaha should ditch the over-priced yet underwhelming Super Tenere, unscrew the best bits of it and fit them to their TDM 900 laugh.gif
