Was a last minute decision Graham cos was struggling to get the butterflys out and afraid of damaging the throttleshafts i took them to a chap near me and while there saw he had a bead blasting cabinet so got them cleaned, he also had an ultrasonic but interestingly said in his experience was'nt such a good result as bead blasting 
So along with new seals and a cupla jets were in business.

Errrrm, seem to remember the drain screws should be facing away from each other. Think I might have saved some photos of my carbs so will have a look.

Cheers that's how they were before splitting, the right bowl has an R stamped innit which makes me assume it's for the right side.
will swap over anyhoo, need some sort of hose for the overflow as well, fingers crossed for warmer weather soon.
Just had a blat through Haynes re float levels, looking at mine the left bowl in the above pic doesnt even have a marker, think i'll be putting a marker onnit.

Mine are facing in, I assumed it was so you could get a reet long screwdriver on em from outside the frame. Think the book of lies shows them that way too.

Could well be correct there Swarf. I'm only going off how I've come across carbs.
EDIT: page 4.8 diagrams 7.7a and 7.7b show them facing away from each other. Soooooo, fook knows.

Yeah I have found Heinz refers to markings on boat foals that don't exist.

The marking is there guys, you can just see the edge of the line about 2/3rds up on the roundy bits.

I know the mk2a carbs don't have the markings but allus had markings on mk1 bowls. Wonder if the wans you saw had different bowls, mayhaps off an XTZ ?
Anyhoos, Dabbers wans have markings, he just needs to put his glasses on.

Oil have to dig around and see if I have a set. Might be the set in da boike. I always set em by float height anyways so not a big problem. Maybe I didn't look well enough.
