So is it running rough at low revs and fine at mid to high revs ?

it'll start, tick over an' pick up ok......if I try hand hold the rpm at around 2500 there's a li'l bit of hunting but if I open the tap full, instead of it pulling like a train which is what it used to do, it bogs down i.e. it very slowly picks up to around 3500-4000 at which point it picks up like a good 'un.

When i give it full beans, If I back off a touch as it starts to bog down it'll pick up ok also if i don't give it full beans it pulls smooth....there's noticable hesitation (feels a bit like a flat spot) at around the 4000 mark..it's not right but it's usable.

The real issue is when I try to pull out from behind someone to over take quickly, an' there's a truck coming the other way an' nothing happens : (

Wonder if it could be a sticking CSM or a blocked air filter ?  Looks like it's running rich.

Does the manual call this a cold start mec?

All it does is hold the revs up, mixture is controlled by the ecu.

TPS or ECU+fueling or timing.

The clue is in the engines reluctance to pull through on a wide open throttle - very un-TDM and then there is the good behaviour at the bottom and top end of the range to take into account.

Also, I'd add

Given that it was "running normally", then on later inspection you found any number of glaringly bad faults in the wiring, battery and HT circuits that would have otherwise knobbled any other self respecting 900, do you think that there may be some other detail that you are overlooking or choosing to ignore?

I'm not a 900 owner, so I'll shaddup now.

Thinks.

40k?

Do you know for sure that the valve clearances have been checked properly?

100 bucks on TIGHT valve clearances.  :pimp: - hence the sudden unexpected, but now regular, warm engine foibles.

What d'ya call a deer with no eyes ?  No idea.

I was kinda equating the CSM with the choke mech on a carbed bike tbh.

There's a bunch of receipts for work done, including ones for shims, plus it makes quite a bit of rattle noise so my guess would be that it's been done :dunno:

Hmmm, should get a spark if it's earthed properly. Is it possible to get the wires to the coil crossed ?  What's an OBD ?

found a discrepancy in the temp sensors.....both coolant temp and air intake temp are reading way above what actual temps are!

Any ideas why?

BTW, when I unplug the sensors they both give a OBD reading of -22......is this normal?
