If nobody wants it on here then its off to other places, probably, no rush as its tucked up now in a nice warm garage.
Hopefully you'll find someone in the spring wanting it when the weather picks up
There's a nice 2010 bike with just 29k miles for £2990 on ebay just now........Which is the best bike, lower mileage or 3 years younger ? ........ I say let the market decide.....but personally a 2010 bike will fetch better money in 2018 than a 2007 bike will

Yes we surely had an idea but, as you plainly noticed.......nobody wants to play your fookin headgames.....now your pissin me off, stop being a prick please.
It doesnt really take much with you does it. I suggest you keep your nose out and concentate on some of your other posts. Somebody might be interested. Jono seems to be of a similar attitude, stick yer conk in mate.
It would be reasonable not to say things on here that you wouldnt say face to face with somebody. It could get very interesting. So If you are not looking for a bike, then go and show your knowledge elsewhere and good luck boys.
Its becoming very obvious that these bikes are not as valuable oe wanted as some of you think judging by some of the comments by the usual people I must say. i think it may be better to sell to somebody not on here, should have done that first. Tara

WTF. Mate, you're bang out of order and totally out of step with this forum. It would be reasonable not to say things on here that you wouldnt say face to face with somebody. It could get very interesting.
Mods: can we have some sort of protocol whereby a seller has to state a price and nip this nonsense in the bud. It's not the first time rows have developed over this sort of thing and it's all totally unnecessary. If you can't decide maybe we ought to have a vote.

The original post was certainly a lot more abrasive than it appears now (edited soon after posting) and likely reminded us members of the infamous "Black/Silver Mk2 debacle", not surprisingly leading us down this rabbit hole a second time.
Some have been naughty ,but really, I feel you've only to make your case, big up the sale, state your price range and then sit back.
I agree that there should be a policy regarding motor sales.
Several photos, + points, - points and a price range at bare minimum.

I think you've convinced yourself that low mileage is a lot more valuable than it sometimes really is.
I have no interest in the bike but I at least owe you an explanation as to why some people might not rate low mileage as highly as you seem to do. Speaking from experience, a low mileage 9 year old vehicle can be problematic. The bike has perhaps had long periods of inactivity. This means there is going to have been a lot of condensation build up inside. When the engine starts some of that water boils off, and some is mixed with the oil.
oil oxidation rates increase when contaminants, including water, are mixed into the oil. The additives themselves oxidise too, as well as deteriorate due to being in contact with metal.
Oil shelf lives are usually in the 5-10 year range when the oil is in a sealed container......when it sits in an engine and there is access to air and moisture the life drops away.
Over the period of standing the bearings will have drained off and some parts of some bearings will also have been subject to moisture.
Oil seal sealing lips will have formed microadhesions to the rotating shafts, such that when the engine starts a small distortion occurs on the sealing lip.
I would like to think that someone took care and considered these facts. Rust could have developed on the steel clutch plates...that rust is in the oil as soon as you ride.
less than 5k miles but 9 years old.......it honestly might not be all it's cracked up to be......has the brake fluid been changed in 9 years ?
And then again it might be absolutely fine. What I'm saying is, as someone who has stripped down an old and barely used engine on a number of occasions, lack of use can cause problems further down the line, it isn't always what it's cracked up to be
EDIT...I just remembered that i recently took the camshafts out of an 850 engine which probably hasn't been run for 9 months. The cam lobes were rusty on their faces in a couple of areas.......
EDIT 2 - Why not say it has been stored for a long period and has been properly recommissioned, with all fluids being replaced and brake caliper seals checked ( Obviously don't just say it, but do it !)

Oh Dear, I think you would find its perfectly Ok.It has never stood for a long period and has been serviced, why tell me about the oil, there is nothing wrong with it, its new. The first owner had it until last year and then the second owner took it to Spain for two weeks and did 2,400 miles. I took it to Spain and did 1.200 miles in a week. Mothing went wrong. Looking at some of the high mileage bikes on here, I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole, talk about tales of despair, Shock linkages stuck, swing arm pivots stuck, fairings scraped and cracked. Like I have said, there are a few on here who would be better on a farm. Goodbye

.It has never stood for a long period and has been serviced,
I don't see how you can say that when up until it was 8 years old it had done less than 2000miles (By your reckoning)
250 miles per year, 0.7 miles per day regular use ? Aye okay whatever

Christ on a bike! (see what I did there). This thread has got as bad as the other when you advertised the 850. Now surely if you had just put the price up in the first instance then the shit slinging would have been avoided.
One thing I have noticed though is when you are selling you either advertise for a fair bit more than you'd be happy with (i.e. 850) or in a post on this thread you came up with 3k or nearest offer, then a few posts later it's a firm 3k or you'll start removing extras.
I think you go about things half cocked. But that is just my opinion.
For the record I agree with fixit ref the ultra low mileage. Not necessarily a good thing.
Now I just fly everywhere.
Be yourself, because everybody else is taken.
