Got me some 758 Road Ultra Low Renthals for the Mk2. http://www.carpe-tdm...=31453&p=313332

Looking to reduce the pull back and place more of my 6' 2" frame a'twixt the two wheels as required.

Going to approach this task with caution so that I don't miss any obvious stumbling blocks.

Have decided to grind rather than drill and will start by raising the RHS master cylinder banjo fitting upwards so that it won't foul/block the headstock or RH fork adjusters.

Anything else I need know?

The jury is out with respect to whether or not it was worth fitting 758 Road Ultra Low Renthals for the Mk2.

Clearance is OK and the riding position/control input feels a little different. (Not as much as I had hoped and suggests that the bars are the way they are for good reason). Wave goodbye to the handguards too.

Vibes are obvious now and of the "vibration white finger" sort.

I will have to fit the mahoosive stock Yamaha bar ends I think, so will want to know what the procedure is.

Do I drill and tap? What sizes?  http://www.carpe-tdm...=13718&p=129685

                                                   http://www.carpe-tdm...ic=7454&p=74332

1.5 or 2mm pitch?

Thanks.

UPDATE

Now that the bars are lined up for a natural / level sweep I can confirm that the change was worth it.

Took her for a nice 180km afterwork spin. Was really good to hear the twin scream at WOT after a somewhat confused day at work.

Fitted a centre stand, finally.. only took me 10 years of ownership! :good: Thought it'd be rude not to lube the chain, now it's easy.. not for the first time in 10 years, mind..

Repainted the very rusty centre stand and refitted it this afternoon. This has vastly improved its appearance. Also adjusted the chain to reduce snatchiness and spotted a tight link😠. It's only 12k miles old...

Had a nice little 250km spin with the wife. Went for a coffee to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Great BBQ with a friend afterwards. Today is our 3rd wedding anniversary, so I will cook the dinner I prepared when she visited me for the first time ;)

Played slalem with 21 century, impatient, aggresive, discourteous and, for this biker, dangerous, British drivers. 4 incidents in a 10 minute ride has to be a record for me. Or is it just that it's the school holidays :dunno:

Yep. Holidays. Parents with fried brains and little patience.

I do 80K per year and there are regular Death Race 2000 periods throughout, that you need to be wary of.

They should be Holijoys and the hoypoloy don't get it.

This is the time of year when I get my kicks counting jack-knifed caravans.
