Just replaced needle jets and low down performance has been transformed. Sub 3000rpm was a nightmare round town but now nice smooth delivery all the way from 1200rpm..nice and linear..no stuttering then surge at 3k anymore :)

Screws in the road  A nearly new tyre as well. I'd plug it and Ultraseal (or whatever it's called now) the tyre for confidence.

- Finally got to install the adjustable clutch lever, first time I can reach clutch lever comfortabely.

- Fitted a new PR2 rear tyre, and because they come with a cardbord supporting "ring" getting air pressure is no longer a problem. Tyre sits tightly against rim walls because they have been expanded by the cardboard support. Before tyres used to be collapsed and most needed pressure to tighten upon first inflation/popping the beads. Brilliant !

- Changed rear light bulbs - 1st bulb changed in 10 years/56,000kms other than dashboard lights.

Made a safer, wider staircase runway to get the TDM back on the road after tyre change. Last time I nearly fell over when rear wheel slid on wet wood....

Cateeclan, you mention skidmarks. In your understrides. Did the puncture cause a sudden, tortoise head popping, response from the bike? Sincere question. My T30 had quite a big tear in it which caused very vague handling but no movement, sorry, moment. I ask because I'm weighing up the value of carcass construction. Been looking at Angel GT's which are very light and no doubt perform very well, but what happens if you get a puncture? If you get my gist. Never really thought about puncture safety before I read your post but, a relevant consideration. In ignorance I rode the T30, flat, at 60mph wondering WTF was going on. The steering was heavy in corners. Photo in the tire thread.

Had my T30 plugged and it's tickety boo.

Bjorge, give me a clue on how to change dash lights. I'm scared. One bulb out on the speedo but it looks a huge faff replacing a bulb which I only need twice a year.

What sizes you fitted will be interested to see your definitive report in the near future both on and off road.

You have the first do not f@&k with TDM I have ever seen. Brilliant work. Also very keen to here your comments on the tires. Me Dad has fitted a pair to his KDX200SR.

Is the front reversed?

No, it was going down fairly slowly. I should have stopped and had a look rather than continuing having felt something wasn't right.

I over took a car and had to get in quick as the road ahead was going left and I couldn't see if there was anything coming. It was nothing more than the tyre rolling side to side, bit like in mud off road, enough to cause my rear to tighten.

Took it to work the next day and it's now back on the bike. :good:

As for other tyre's I don't experiment much but I'd bet our guess is right, the lighter the tyre the less sturdy the side wall. I'd rather not do the testing. :unsure2:

Well new K60 tyres are great... went off road for about 30 miles today, coped really well with loose steep forest trails, up and down...Plenty control....grip on the road is great too, a bit more tyre noise from front due to tread but still holds a good line and sitting at 70mph is no different. I recommend these if you fancy taking your bike somewhere a bit more adventurous. I've posted a few pics in Ride Reports.

Took the TDM ferra blast up to Squires bikers cafe. Lovely weather so it was pretty busy up there !

Met up with a mate and had a good natter.  I was also spotted by a fellow TDM owner from Hull, sorry I forget your name mate.  Hopefully he'll be joining Carpe soon. :)

Finally managed to fit my Givi engine bars.  I can see that if you are an experienced bike fettler and have the right equipment to hand this job could be done in 15 mins, but if like me you're a novice mechanic, using an eclectic set of tools, whilst trying to understand the minimalist Givi instructions it takes a little longer...  Thanks to fellow Carpedians for your help and advice
