Yep...it's the knowledge of just what can be achieved with the most obscure items that appeals to me.
When it comes to art itself, was crap at it forever. Then I went to some classes. Brilliant. Christ knows what went wrong in that department when I was at school!!

you can see the metallic black base coat I used now

I also used a pearlescent white base paint for the flams.

the clearcoat is touch dry at the moment, I got about 48hrs before I return it, so it is drying on my sons guitar stand in free space.

I do have a small compressor with tank in the garage (not used for some time). I assume it will be ok to use for airbrushing with a few extras bought? Will have to look into recommended pressures etc.

it should be fine, I use a mini genarator, it is good for the pen type airbrush, but for a small spray gun it is useless. I found a compessor on Aldi or lidl for about £80. this would do the job. oh bugger I cant find the offer must have been on lastweek or week before.
40psi is ideal for the spraying, it will reduce when the trigger is pressed. The guns in work run normally at 40psi in the spray booth.

all you need is a surface to hold / place the work on. I use a workbench with an off cut of kitchen top. plus the rafters I can hang work to dry. I got 3 or 4 brushed to choose from but tend to stick to 2.
dont get paint from your local craft place, I made this mistake once, the water content will separate from the pigment, base of the paint. you will end up with water blotches in the details

using Water based paint rather than solvent based paintsmake it easier to clean.
just go out there and give it a shot, remember be paitient it will take time.

I am spraying up Mikey_B side panels on his TDM900.

you can see the scratch I am covering

All that is left is to darken the image the add a few layers of clear coat, then I will get some finishing compound, then job done

that's what my brother wanted, the image is barely noticeable until you look close to the bike.
I have been told, that the skull matches up with my body in the photos,

Spoke to my brother (mikey_b) today, hopefully they should be back on the TDM on the weekend once I have finished polishing then.

I also have a streetfighter build in progress, and really don't want to pay silly money for a paint job. Thinking of doing some gold leaf work to tart up a basic paint scheme. Keep up the good work!
