Today I've ordered a toggle sim,

http://www.togglemobile.co.uk/home/en

Works out at 15p per minute to call home, free to receive all calls.

Now ordering cash, 100 Euros per day sound about right?

Hope so, that's what I'm working on, and hoping to bring some back. Will the sim arrive in time?

Depends what you're planning on using cash for. I tend to put everything on plastic and don't get through that much cash. Will need to find a cashpoint when were get there though as I've only got about 15 euros.

I've loaded my Caxton card and will take a couple of credit cards as well.

Also bought travel insurance today and thought I'd check carole gash. I doesn't let you buy direct from the website so you have to ring. Spoke with this bloke who tried to tell me that because I'd not booked with a package with a travel firm it would be 64 quid for the 10 days. Obviously to him to stuff it where the sun don't shine and then he went away (as they always do) and came back with £39 and some pennies. Again told him to get lost and tried comparethemarket.com. Got basic cover quote (coz that's all we need) for £7.60! Checked the conditions to make sure there was no exclusions for motor cycles and couldn't see anything; so rang the company just to make sure and a guy confirmed that so long as you have a full licence and wear a crash helmet there was no exclusion for bikes. Simples!

Conclusion: CN is a thieving cow!

Now on 9er number 2 .....

Compare the meercat came up with this lot at £6.39 for me.
http://www.holidayex...-insurance.html
Checked the policy wording and in the exclusions it says "You travelling on a motorcycle over 125cc, unless the rider holds a valid licence which lets them ride a motorcycle of more than 125cc"
so all looks good to me.

Interesting, I checked the other day and it said the 8th, which is Saturday? What we could do is stop at Cobham if its open but if not I'll meet you at Clackets Lane which is about another 20 miles further on unless you have a better idea?

Just found a Varadero rider who visited the Eagles Nest last week https://www.facebook....bikingweekends

"There's a car park and bus station at the bottom; there's no room on the road itself for any degree of traffic and very little space for parking at the top. It is up a mountain to be fair! The cost for the bus
is a whopping 13€: but let's face it, you'll only go there once and it is damned impressive when you get up there.

By the way, if you do get there by bike, do not bother paying for parking in the car park. A local explained to me that, although there's a posted charge for parking, it's not actually enforced for bikes."
