Well, they might set the carbs up but it'd prolly cost you a day's labour (£500)  Might as well have a go at doing them yourself first.

Still getting all the paint off the frame, taking its toll on my arms! Haha Ive resorted to paint stripper for the bits I cant get the wire wheel to.
Should of saved a few pennies to get it blasted! Haha never mind. Engines starting to look nice, cleaned half today when I got sick of the frame!
Engine so far

I dont know yet, if I can find a clear coat for engines, I might strip and clean it! Otherwise I think itll be easier to get a aluminium coat on it.

Most of the welding is done. All, of I dont need another bracket for the number plate holder.
Ps, I’ve no idea why it’s upside down...

It's a work in progress and will be evolving some more.  Was going the way of a rat bike but I went a bit "mad max" with it.

dlE5R6v.jpg?1

Frame is now black with some spot lights on the engine bars

tcdu79H.jpg?1

I feel the lights are too small for the cowl and so I need to fettle a bracket to get the 850 lights on and see what happens, they're pretty heavy compared to these so need a more substantial mounting.

The bike had many years of hard commuting so it's a little cosmetically challenged and wont be as nice as those above, but it turns heads, although maybe not for the right reasons ;)

I can’t modify my headlights, so I was wondering where you got these lamps from with the screen and also, how did you mount the speedo etc?

The lamps are simply ebay - search for Dominator lights and you'll get a big selection come up.

They come in chrome or black etc and are usually the standard size of a large headlight so fit nicely within 'normal' fork headlamp brackets.

I made a bracket that is simply a folded/twisted length of steel - you can just see it going up from the headlamp brackets and both the screen and speedo mounts off it.

The screen is off a Tiger 800 that I had a few years back.  I had a touring screen and this was the stock screen that I had spare.  I cut it down to a height I liked and it sort of worked.

I think the lights look a little small for the screen/screen to big for the lights, but I have a pair of 850 lights that will probably look better and I may try and weld up a bracket to use them in the future, but I'm ok with these at the moment.

Only trouble with the Dominator lights is they usually come with 35W bulbs in, but I replaced them with LED's bulbs and fitted the engine bar lights to get a better output.

Thank you nog! Ill have to scan about then!

Ive finally had chance to start painting, the swing arm is waiting for a bit of flatting and last clear coat. Looking good so far, picture when finished! Then moving on to the frame.

Frame is painted! Not the right colour, but it looks great! Love it. Just the engine to paint now, then it goes back together.
Whats the best glue for fairings etc? Q bond? I want to move the head lamp and need to make some tabs for it. And if that doesnt work, itll be different lights altogether, like nogs.

Cleaned the engine and painted it today. Checked the valve clearances and compression. All looking great! Just need to put it back together and start making brackets for headlights and clocks!
