hate you all my wife doesn't bake

in fact she cant cook that well either

Shiney (and not so shiney) bikes and cake is what this site is all about.  Why not try learning some new skills ?  Lots of info on cake baking out there and I'm sure wifey would appreciate it. And we'd appreciate you posting up your endeavours too. :)

We got flour in the shop in big bags which Mrs B weighs out for customers. We can also source yeast from our local bakery which we could post. Must say it's been a pain in the R's to find it. Anyone interested drop us line.

I'm down to my last 2 sachets.
This was the first place I've seen in a fortnight charging a realistic price, seen some places asking £20 for the same bag, would rather go without than pay some scalper to profit from the current situation.

Is the one in your eBay linky dink sachets pantss? Not that it matters mush now as it's gone. I prefer the sachets as yer loaves don't gradually get smaller and smaller as they do with the little yeast cans/bags.

Lots and lots of elf raisin and bread flour in bookers...weirdly they don't sell yeast and non in poopersarket neither.

A recipe to avoid.

I got a banana bread recipe, it came from some surrey news rag. Simple to make and it's just like rubber. The recipe was for eggs, banana and oatmeal ground into flour plus something to sweeten it. The article was "biging" it up as something special.

Carpedian's I salute you. The world has gone mad - doom, gloom and despondency. But in a quiet corner of Carpe the most important thing is to establish a thriving black market in yeast and flour to prevent a national cake shortage!

It cheers me up knowing that their are still brave men and true among us.

Is everyone aware that most supermarket bakeries will give you fresh yeast for free (or for a small charge). If you ask at the in store bakeries. Although a lot of bakeries now bake from frozen dough-forms, those who bake with yeast will often give it away. I think I read that in past times bakers were obliged to give out yeast on request

Went out for a cycle with the Mrs this morning, stopped in the village shop on the way home and they had flour. Let the cake baking begin (again). I might even push the boat out and make some Yorkie puds to go with the roast tomorrow! Bread flour is still being rather evasive though.

No Dappers, tis a big bag. I agree about the sachets been fresher though, I prefer them too but this is a case of needs must.

I can divvy it up and post you a bag if you need 👍
