Going up to my brother's place this afternoon, a suicidal squirrel tried to jump through my front wheel.

Most of him didn't make it.

hey guys just wanted to say you've been a helluva inspiration to me...your posts (and that of masterbrewers) finally did it for me and i got myself a tdm mk1 which I will 'do up' to take to the nordics and estonia, latvia, lithuania, bielorussia, ukraine and poland next may/june (planning a 3-4 week trip, probably with a couple of mates)....bit about me im an aussie living now permanently in the uk (i know its usually the other way around but had little choice in the matter: lol) and have had quite a few bikes, last being bmw k1200r which i managed to pull 20000miles over the last 12 months travelling the balkans, romania, slovakia, czech the alps and a few other sweet spots...(managed it on dirt tracks etc in the balkans and romania but the roughest we got was about tyre deep:)) and after selling this fine but bloody expensive to maintain machine i got meself a £600 tdm mk1 (1996) so want to use the rest of the budget for the trip and improvements to this excellent machine (and tell you what, she's brilliant...different to the bm, but simply brilliant).

got a couple of q's tho..masterbrewer, you got any links on instructions for some of the things you did? i'd appreciate any if all smile.gif also jonc would you guys be keen to link up when we're over your way (as said a while to go yet but am starting to plan) also would you have any advice or pointers for travelling to your fine country/region?

cheers and hope to hear from ya'

Hi Tomski.
We are all already waiting for you to come. Let me know when and how long are you planning to be in Estonia and probably we can arrange you a nice tour to beautiful places where tourists usually never go.

hey jonc, thats great mate and many thanks! i heard loads about estonia so i am definitely looking forward to seeing it outside the tourist track...the invitation is reciprocal if you ever wonder over this way (the uk)....i've been car offroading around the southern uk for a few years now so know a few pretty good tracks..never tried on a bike but saw quite a few attempting various bits so will now become one of them smile.gif

What a great surface to ride. Nice pictures and video. Makes me want to go riding but there is about 80cm of snow outside. Little bit too much for the TDM.

Good to see you guys are actually human and fall off occasionally clapping.gif , although picking up a big bike from the low side on slope is one mean feat. blush.gif

Great work again & Merry Christmas to you all

We fall off quite often. The problem is that guys who are going to fall never tell others to be ready to film and take pictures of the fall rotflmmfao.gif
I guess something must be wrong with the bikes, as after some serious riding they tend to get tired and start taking naps. This is not only a problem of Yamahas but also of Suzukis and KTMs. The engineers have probably calculated something wrong. The guy who rides KTM used to have a Harley. According to his experience Harleys don't tip over that often. tongue.gif

2011-02-12 Round IV

http://www.facebook....197836226898786
as usual.. meet up and breakfast

2 big trailies today, i rode my other bike WR200,

nice scenery, dry weather, fun trail..

usual first rest point

best way to spend a Saturday

where is the XR ?

XR rider overshot the turn .. but no damage, thanks to thick grass.

had to detour among banana plants

while looking for new trails. Bobby lead us to this..

it was brutal for Vstrom,

but it looked easy on skilled rider, Patrik on KTM 990 ADV

check out the terrain

i took wrong line and got stuck.. may be it was tyres... need to change to knobbies

it was tough and technical hill climb.. but the feeling on top of the hill is fantastic..

XR rider dropped his bike and carb is flooded, we tried to help to start

it’s good now

it was a blast for 990

someone having fun, going up and down..

but for some.. it was not fun..

it’ll be tough for heavy bikes.. lucky that i didn’t bring TDM

need some help ?

they have to man-handle vstorm out of the way

after that.. everyone is pretty tired under afternoon sun..
so we rest for a while in plantations

well.. after that... usual bike wash and dinner before heading home.

Good way to spend a Saturday.
Join us on future rides..
