Sorry to hear it Sagalout.

For those who are going can you confirm as this is what I think there is.

OldGreyWizard ,
Rami,
Markalisson,
DazzerB,
Markymark

Dont think there is a slow group.

so its off @ 3am to get to the top by 7pm.

averaging 53 mph we should do it, no problems blink.gif

Still its a challenge and not many people can say they have done it.

if there is time, Iam going for the 1,000.

Cheers, Ivan

Can some one give me an update on whats happening. Allways wanted to do the run. I have tried reading all the threads but my eyes are starting to bleed.
Fast or slow I don't really care, just want to do the run. Where is everyone meeting, any body going from the Derby area.

In a Nut shell, Trebor.

I dont think there is a slow group. unless you want to be one, they were going to take two days up.

Meet late Friday 7th May at Lands End, try and have a kip at the side of the road.

Set off for John O'Groats at 3am Sat 8th May to get up there about 7 pm. 848 miles .

Accomodation Thread

Have a meal, Cake, Beer and Bed.

Trophy at the end for the most raised for charity, " the Mike "Stormy Water" memorial Trophy" . Stormy was going to be on this, so its one way of remembering him.

Sunday, as you please.

We are going the long way back via the west coast and taking 3 days back.

More than welcome to bring anyone along.

Hope to see you.

Ivan

Sounds good to me. I think we will be a little sore 800+ miles in a day but I am willing to give it a go. Not sure about the three days back, I will have to see how much time I can get off work. Is any one meeting up for the ride down to LE on Friday.

That is only me and Chrisville going on for 3 days.

The majority are coming straight back, I think.

I'm dropping out of this as my son is doing SATs at this time of year. We're going to do a run to the Scilly Isles to the Shetland Isles via Lands End and John O'Groats in the summer.

He might not be doing SATS if the teachers unions get their way. good.gif Anyway, SATS are supposed to be an assessment of the school's teaching, not your son's knowledge.

Trebor,

nothing planned for going down or accomodation.

So it is open for suggestions.

I am going down on the Thursday and staying with family. Friday night I was going to lands end for about 6.00 pm and rest up there till we get off at 3.00 am.

There is a pub and resturaunt there, so I was going to have a good meal and the chill out for a few hours.

If people want to do that ?

If everyone can PM me with their mobile numbers, I will do contact sheet and then share it with everyone going on the ride.

Cheers, Ivan

Not sure about the bum cream but I have already got the shorts. I have got Friday and Monday off work so I aim to ride down to Lands end on Friday and arrive mid afternoon. I will try and pre book some cheap B and B. Then food, beer, sleep. If any one wants to ride down please get in touch. On Sunday I hope to try out some off the better roads around Scoland heading south. Find some digs Sunday where ever we end up and then a splash and dash home on the Monday.

Thought i'd better say hi before the ride in 3 weeks... i'm an old mate of Old Grey Wizards (when he was a die hard blade only type) who mentionted this trip, sounded like a biblically stupid thing to do so of course i agreed. Will be likely tagging along likely at the back with my meagre 140 mile tanks range and will be probably on the most unsuitable bike possible, an FZ1 naked rotflmmfao.gif... which is ace for my 100 mile daily london battle but i'll likely start hating it somewhere past north Wales.

Looking forward to meeting you all...

Hi, Blingers.

Glad you can come along.

Dont worry about stopping every 100 miles or so to fill up because

My TDM will do 210 miles + without stopping, but I cant !

I've got 20 ltr tank and a 1/2 pint pisser ! unsure.gif

Dont forget to PM me with your mobile in case we get split up or in an emergency.

Got a few already, I'll print them off and hand them out on the day / night.

Can I have a role call please.

Dablik, tongue.gif I could rise to the bait and say a

" whitty retorical reply which would humiliate and emphasise how misguided that paradigm veiw is "

But, " I cant be arsed ! ". drinks.gif

from those nice people in Aerostich,

"Product Description
This will save your ass on long, hard rides. It’s purpose-built for your butt, but also works great in underwear and everywhere that is sensitive to chafing, burning, reddening rashes. More than a re-packed drugstore talc or a baby powder, this proprietary formula eliminates getting painfully chafed, raw and rashy during sweaty butt-busting activities. It also provides an immediate ‘aaaahhh-oooohhh’ skin relief on (or after) tough rides. Good for motorcyclists, truck drivers, off road and road drivers, bicyclists, etc., whenever your butt takes a pounding all day. 6oz. bottle.
Anti Monkey Butt Powder #1881"
