Well fellas, it's getting closer and the packing dilemmas have started already.

Can't decide whether I'm going to risk the weather with a tarp and bivi bag arrangement (less to carry) or whether to bring the bulkier tent (2/3 man Vango, but it's all I have)? If I bring the tent then that pretty much rules out bringing my sleeping mat (it's a pretty bulky self inflating affair), so in the interest of a comfortable mattress, I might sacrifice having walls on 3 sides and go for the bivi option. Unless it's a posh campsite that will frown on it. In which case how did we get in?

Then there's the cooking... what about that? Somehow the whole campsite breakfast is part of the whole camping thing for me, but if the general consensus is to eat out (find the prrfect all day breakfast somewhere), then so be it... I may bring a brew-kit anyway just to be sure to get my tea in bed!

What do you reckon? help.gif

Micron 2-1 exhaust (fruity but not offensive), TRX engine (after the death-rattle signalled the end of the original), Hagon rear shock, rust-proof rear end courtesy of loobman chain oiler... My first and only bike (delivered new to home before I passed my test), tatty and a bit of a shed, but still get a buzz from it!

Paddy - would you mind applying a little muck'n'grime to that bike before crossing the border - there are laws down here about that sort of carry-on! And get rid of the cat before you leave as well tongue.gif

Paps - The site is quite family oriented - I had to reassure them that we are a respectable bunch. I hope they don't contact Bantry after last year and Danceswithmopeds waking half of West Cork with his 3 billion db exhaust at 8am rotflmmfao.gif
Anyway , it is a nice campsite to be fair and is quiet enough so a fella can get a bit of sleep - to be honest I've given up on late nights (keep it quiet TeDeum!!) . I would opt for the tent in case it buckets down. How big is the tent?

Also last year we eat out and just made a brew in the morning. However it's really whatever you want yourself. We probably won't move off on sat till 10am at earliest but thats up to the collective decision as well. The sat planned run is really only about 3hrs riding - but we can extend that as well on the day.

Right so - I'm ready too...

Have you ever lent someone 20 quid and never seen it again? It was probably worth it.

Its not a particularly big tent, it just doesn't pack down that small and so will take up a fair bit of my available space. I'll have to leave the dinner jacket at home.

I'm up, everybody's up.
First time it didn't start on first push of button.
It might, just might have had something to do with the slight touch of damp in the air.
Thank f*** for those guys with the jump leads.

Just reminded me of a text.

My girlfriend said she wanted something 9 inches long, hard and full of spunk.

So I gave her the sock from under the bed.

I'm half afraid to say this for fear of being slagged for a whole weekend but I'm usually lucky with weather. The long-range looks worse for the sunday which is only the ride home so that would be okay. I'm more interested in getting a dry day for the saturday run.

Has anyone a decent camera and camcorder they can bring - I have a camcorder but I'm not very good at using is as the NW200 videos prove.

Also don't forget puncture repair kit and chain lube for those of us who still do so manually.

I got a new topbox from Crossan today - it's a Givi 35L which is well big enough for what I want. Must say though I'm not too impressed with the quality. It comes with a plastic rack-adapter that you have to bolt-on whiich is very agricultural. I alreay have a Givi rack so you would imagine they would make one rack and all boxes interchangable? I thought the whole locking mechanism and general build is very flimsy - maybe I just expected too much. Anyway I have to make up a plate to fit it properly as the plate they supply and the rack I have leave it looking very gammy. It will be ready for the 25th though dry.gif

I don't think Trevor has the Deuville sorted yet (since last years G2G) - he brings the word casual to a whole new level! A whole year to replace a rad and a back tyre!

Is anyone else travelling up from Dublin/Kildare area on the friday morning?
