Maybe it's just me, but I don't like cans mounted with straps.

SEBRING, STAINTUNE and LASER are all different (bolted with a fixed plate), more in line with the origimal setup.
Looks nicer IMHO.

SEBRING, STAINTUNE, LASER are bolt-ons,right? And SUPERPOLE is a slip-on product, isn't that correct? If it's so I go for a bolt-on aftermarket exhaust - one that's road legal - and I have just ordered LASER Duo-Tech for my TDM.

whats the difference ?? does slip on mean.............it actually slips on and is retained in place by those springs ??? do you or are you meant to use a sealing compound to prevent leaks along with this spring/slip on method ??

spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

I loike tay and hang sangwiches !

To be honest, I don't know the difference. I'm just guessing because I'm not familiar with the terms.
Anyway, the only differnce I can think of is this metal strap thingy around the cans... I don't care much for that...
I just think it looks better without it...

Slip on is usually just the muffler end that slips onto / over the stock exhaust system. Bolt on is usually a more full system which bolts onto the cilinders, or somewhere in between.

The TDM superpole cans include the mid section pipes (and I think all other exhaust brands have that as well), they bolt on to the exhaust headers or manifold below the bike.

I'm not bothered by the strap, it's a quite nice looking strap actually... IMHO... YMMV etc etc. Not all superpole pipes have straps though, the underseat ones are mounted differently. They can usually customize it in any way you want. If you look at the ZX10R mid page on the following link, you can make it so short you don't need a strap anyway cool.gif : http://www.motor-for...sages/117009/11

There are a couple of links below for short sound/video bites of the Akrapoviks from early this morning, sorry they are not up to the quality of some other members efforts, but I am quite chuffed to have got them on here at all!!

Sorry they are badly pixelated, but least you get an idea of the sound, when I have a 'techy' moment I'll see if I can do a longer one.............

Thank ye laddie - there's nuthin' as romantic as a wee blaa on the pipes tae gladden the hert! good.gif

Your file certainly picks up on the raised bass*, but maybe hasn't quite captured the crackling edge?
(Looking forward to the full symphony, and likely to comparative soundfiles by other composers... smile.gif )

*good for settling block paving, and probably raising worms for any fishermen out there?

Sorry AJB - in terms of metal hardware I can appreciate (and even agree with) your tastes. But the thread had drifted to (in English idiom) other connotations of "cans and straps". sorry.gif

Good luck with your choice. good.gif
