I may decide to Sorn the bike Lee, tax runs out end of the month and besides this issue has been bugging me since i had the bike, in my time of ownership the swing arm has come out at the start of every season and still never managed to get that bugger out, more concerned about riding it especially as swmbo has more time and an inclination to come out with me.....think the best thing would then be for me to make an appointment with you and bring her down, do you have an approx cost of replacement bits and bobs from doing Chris's bike !! or Chris i guess you would know..

proper prep ... scouring local town for a proper rawlplug 6mm carriage bolt and some plumbers freeze-it
prevented ... me hitting it with a hammer
piss poor performance ... averted thanks to carpe
I was lucky 38k miles 2006 seemed to have some grease from the factory ....
..popped the rawlplug in the collar to check I had the right size, had the torch and freeze can in hand decided to pull out the carriage bolt with my figures to check I had all the way in and it popped out with the collar
..not going to leave it 38k miles and 8yrs next time, that and copperslip on the adjusters ...seems a job worth doing every tyre change

Think thats a bit of overkill hvass, annually should suffice i reckon, unless your well set up to knock the job out quickly..

Just ordered the bearing and seals for this job. Will probably wait until Spring and warmer weather. Unless Ali has a Fettle Day, I'll have to go it alone and humour you all with a feckup fest.

I got the proper tools to draw the needle rollers in with Muddy, so an AliG fettle seems to be the right place to do it. Unless you fancy a trundle up here.
2002 900 silver,oil pressure switch with brass 90 degree conversion, RG fork protectors. Wilburs custom made rear Shock with remote hydraulic preload and RG shocktube, Wilburs front springs. Scotoiler with a custom made swing arm delivery unit. Silicone radiator hoses.BMW 1150 handguards with Touratech extensions, Carbon Fibre yoke cover and fender extenda, MRA flip screen, Yamaha Engine bars, SW Motech Centre Stand, Kappa wingrack three box Luggage with E21's as option from the K960 boxes, Zumo 660 satnav on Touratech mount, Led Voltage monitor, Baglux tank cover, Clear LED Rear light, Aux LED brake light, Stainless rear axle nut, stainless chain adjusters, stainless wheel spacers front and rear, Probolt Polished Stainless Flanged Hex engine screws, Polished stainless fairing screws, stainless disc bolts. Does anyine know the dimensions of the bearings ? I've seen kits being sold for silly money, yet a good supplier like RS Components stock reasonably priced quality bearings

It's worth knowing that 4mm thick seals will also fit as there is plenty of room

Very lucky, Just caught mine in time, managed to drift the bush out with a hardened steel rod from the right side (as sitting on the bike). The bearing was well greased and in good condition but the steel bush had just started to corrode into the aluminium.
All cleaned up copper greased the aluminium and pushed it all back into place. Thanks to this Forum I caught it in time.

Hello all,
Managed to get out the frame bush on the linkage - was a sod and mangled a few shield bolts in the process. I think I should not have left any later as the bush has some corrosion on it. Polished off ok.
Anyways, seems like the inside of the bush needs to be threaded so that it can more easily be pulled out. Might be tricky with what is probably some sort of hardened steel bush?
