2002 900 silver,oil pressure switch with brass 90 degree conversion, RG fork protectors. Wilburs custom made rear Shock with remote hydraulic preload and RG shocktube, Wilburs front springs. Scotoiler with a custom made swing arm delivery unit. Looks like a soggy bottom Bakewell to me. Derbyshires a nice place for pootling though.

I came across these hot forged brass valve caps of the 1920's Michelin design. Since I've developed a brass habit I got a pair in the raw state much cheaper and polished them myself.
Borrowed my mates bullet case tumbler and used crushed walnut and rouge powder for the final shine as the wings caused difficulty.

Are they heavy enough to put the wheel out of balance, or do those older bikes not get fast enough for that ?

I balanced wheels with them on, didn't make much difference only added 2.5g opposite but with me riding it's all done at 65 mph anyway.

Brasso is too abrasive , the shine dulls off, so I use a fine metal creme polish on it.
I'm becoming a serial polisher 🤪
I had to order a second one as Mother decided she liked the shape so much she wants one in her cabinet of Objet d'art. So 'technically' I have a spare, actually trying to use it would get me killed.
