Unwrapped it!!! And its survived the winter intact. Fitted the re-trimmed seat and...well the black is nowhere near black enough :( and the back foam needs a bit of thinning out, but hey ho, off to Tony Archer's we go. Anyway, here's some pics of me 9er :D  :D  :D  attachicon.gifIMG_0151.JPGattachicon.gif

Very similar to mine PV and the material looks the same, 1st winter and the seat has some mold on it  if it does'nt wash off will have to recover

Not a bad idea Chris, but dont think shoe polish is practical with the kind of material it is, worth asking the chap who recovered it  :good:

Well hopefully a wash should get rid of it as it's only a slight covering but, failing that can go with that suggestion, good idea cheers..

You don't need to recover. Get a tin of Vinyl Dye. I used it to change the colour on the grey Baglux cover I got from Big Dave to black and the result is amazing. It really looks like new. I bought a general purpose cleaner from them at the same time as recommended and then just followed the instructions. Their address is www.vinyldye.co.uk.

Cheers Ali, another good suggestion, so long as i can remove the mold in the 1st place thats an even better idea as i've got a pair of boots need dying.

Mr mot man gave advisory on slightly dragging back brake, so a bit of investigation revealed the pistons are sticking a bit.

So it will be a full caliper refurb with new seals, and titanium slider bolts.

A less than perfect mot :hide:  and it's done almost no miles since the last one, been kept covered in dry garage sprayed in ACF50

I commuted to work in Edinburgh. Im installing sone equipment in the city centre and will be at the same site all week. My 1hr 40 min usual journey took 45 mins.... the Scorpion exhaust sounded fantastic.

Put refurbished rear caliper on yesterday plus new pads bled it all through  no issues ready for the first ride.

Went out to the freezing garage for the first ride in a long time today and she let me down with no turning over, just chattering her relay.  :sorry:

Threatening it with a new one didn't work and charging it didn't have much effect either, it looks ok on no load, but under load it just drops the volts to about 9.7v.

Briefly considered trading her in for a BMW GS (sorry Ivan, but it was annoying) and thought better of it. :punishment:

The battery has gone west, so a new Yuasa is on it's way. Been in there about five years, so I can't complain. The day wasn't wasted, I spent time alternately polishing it and getting annoyed, as the sun was out.
