I booked into the golden Lion for Saturday night - bumbling down the A7 on Saturday and either go via Brampton and some wee roads or a bit of M6 - weather dependant. Lots of funny sounding names of hamlets doon that way - is it anywhere near Felching?

Right I'm in the golden lion bunkhouse sat night and then three peaks sun mon , just to reiterate there is NO bedding in either bunkhouse and you need your own towels as well.
Alan will try and ring you but if not, where do you want to meet ? time and location cannonbie or longtown maybe if your down the A7 then i can take you on some good roads down :-) weather forecast looks to be excellent (fingers crossed)

Well - I set off at 09:00 Sat morning with my local ROSPA group for a social evening in Pembroke, via the Brecon Beacons). Rode some lovely roads with a lot of bumps in them.
Suddenly noticed my voltmeter reading 11.9 instead of the usual 14.1. Doh! Assumed the alternator had gone. Decided to disconnect the headlight and go for home. Got as far as the Magor services on the M4 when it died. AA mad spent half an hor charging me up, and I completed the journey home. Now I think it is bumpy roads that kills alternators. Remember that road accross the Belgian border into Monschau?. I am sure that did for my last one.
Back at Wootton Basset and changed bikes. Rode back to Pembroke in time for desert.
Riding up to Ribblesdale today through Central Wales. See you guys later today.

Wasn't your stator a rewind mark? If indeed that is the fault.

Great few days and fantastic to meet old and new pals.
Thanks to Rob for organising and everyone who turned up ... I sure had a great time.
I have posted more pix on FB ...
The Northern Dales (Swaledale and Arkengarthdale) are probably my favourite locations on the Planet ... ( maybe next to IoM of course) and have some of the best biking roads as well.
Roll on next get-together ...
